About the Author
Top customer reviews
Lucy and Ben have both been deeply affected by loss, not the least of which is what might have happened between them if not for fate. Now hurtful words spoken cannot be undone, and both are adrift. For Lucy it means moving on with a new boyfriend in hopes she can forget Ben. For good guy Ben it’s numbing the pain in more physical ways.
Despite knowing these two should be together, the journey they both take as told through alternating POV’s is authentic and emotional. For some reason I kept imagining Dean from “Gilmore Girls” in the role of Ben. Even though he kept steering off course, I never lost empathy for him. I also liked Lucy’s sense of self-preservation. She loves Ben, but she understands only he can save himself.
This is a beautiful book with fully realized characters and realistic dialogue. I was completely drawn into the story, and especially liked that the title of THE LAST THING YOU SAID meant one thing at the beginning of the book, yet referred to something else by the end. I look forward to more from this author.
