The Last Year of Your Life is a book that I heard about on the radio talk show Coast to Coast AM. The idea of it intrigued me. What would you do if this was the last year of your life? What changes would I make in my life to say that I lived life (for that year at least) to the fullest and did everything I could to make each day something great? What would you do? Would you be up for the challenge?
I took the challenge and even though I am only a few weeks into the program, I notice a difference in my life. I am going to try to stay on the program for the whole year and I really hope that it works for me. I don't have a very good history with keeping with things for a whole year - my diaries usually start out good for a few weeks then fizzle off until I pick them up a few years later. My blog is honestly the only thing I've written in continuously for years.
This program is very interactive though and acts more like a workbook that you can even write in for the exercises. It is hard for me to actually write in books, even ones meant for you to write in - but I am with this one! I think it might make me stick with it longer, and from what I have read I believe it will work.
If you want to wake up and start enjoying your life again, this is really the book for you to get and work with.
I highly recommend The Last Year of Your Life. The book provides you with a lot of balance and substance that you may be missing in your life. It teaches you how to deal with everyday life, how to confront things head-on, how to let go of things in the past, and how to live your dream life. I have now started going through the book week by week; participating in the exercises; signing my name; and committing to a life each year as if it were the LAST YEAR and BEST YEAR of my life! I hope you will do the same. (Michele Sfakianos, RN, BSN & Author)The 4-1-1 on Life Skills: Essential Tips on: Home & Money Management; Personal Care & Safety; and More! (Volume 1)
I teach in a prison. My students are very aware of the need to re-evaluate their lives, and are looking for ways to start over on a better path. I have introduced Clint's book to them. We are all doing the exercises and planning our improvements. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their lives whether in their relationships, monetarily, spiritually, or physically! I just finished week 4 of the "Last Year of Your Life" book and signed the contract; now I have been held accountable, so I HAVE to finish the rest!
I can tell already that this is going to a great year, whether it's my last on this planet or the first year of the rest of my life--whichever turns out to be true, I'm going to live it to the fullest, not only for myself, but for those I love and those who love me.
By the way, as an English professor, author, and editor, I must say that Clint Arthur's writing style is very reader-friendly and personal; it makes the reader think he is standing right there talking to him, sometime encouraging, sometimes annoying, but definitely right there helping the reader with each and every step.
I believe this book will help a lot of people; if you haven't purchased your copy yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?
p.s. I recommend getting the physical book so you can make notes, draw pictures, etc. as you go along.
