This is Brody and Carolyn's story.
What an amazing May/December story where the women is older. Carolyn taught Brody during his senior year and her first year teaching high school. It's been ten years and ran into each other when traveling to see her grandmother. Brody is no longer a high school boy. He is all man. I loved his character. There was so much depth to Brody. It was fun and sweet watching their relationship change.
Some seemed concern about the student/teacher relationship. There was nothing inappropriate between them during the time Brody was her student. It's been ten years since they have seen each other so you are talking about a woman in her early thirties and a man in his late twenties getting together. Ten years changes a lot of things. The story was done very tastefully.
This was a fun and entertaining read. I really enjoyed Brody and Carolyn's story. A May/December romance with humor, chemistry, and lots of emotion with the woman being the older one. We need more stories like Late Bloomer.
Coming Home to You #1 Fun filled romance. A well written, lighthearted story with interesting characters and a romantic plot. There's ups and downs, as in real life, but the realistic dialogue and responses keep the reader immersed in the book. I hated to put the down the book to do my real things, but it was easy to slip back into the pages.
Summer of Fireflies - Poor fireflies. I was intrigued by the title and got the book. This is the first time a book by this author disappointed me. I found the main character immature and while not stupid, silly. Of course, she is young, but she's insecure about everything. I dislike the arrogant female lead in the plays, but she's just the par for an excellent performer. I'm glad this was a short story, since I was reviewing the book. While well written, I didn't enjoy several of the characters and the swiftness of the sex between the male character and the immature female. This author does write good stories.
Finding Southern Comfort - Heartwarming. A well written story filled with interesting characters and a well thought out plot. The dialog is realistic and there's fun as well as serious issues. I love reading books about the South (and Texas), and this one fits in. I want to say more about the story, but it would be spoilers. This author doesn't disappoint with her books, although I wasn't happy with Summer of Fireflies, although it was well written.
The Salty Carmel Christmas - The secrets that family keeps. A well written, intense novella with characters that are interesting and secretive and a plot with the usual hardships. Add a romantic discovery between two childhood friends. The descriptions and events keeps the reader involved with the story.
Summer Riptide - Good second chance romance. Mandy returns home to help her family after her mother has an accident and reconnects with her high school boyfriend. Even though this is a short novella, the story feels complete, with developed characters and descriptive events that enable the reader to become invested in the story as it progressed. For me it was time well spent. I contacted the author to review her books.
