Laura Benjamin lives at 7500 ft. above sea level in Colorado. She is a communication expert who has spoken throughout the U.S., in Canada, Germany and Great Britain. Laura is known for her entertaining, informative, down-to-earth presentation style. She is creator of the CARLA Concept™ Communication Model, also a tool for building problem-solving, self-determination and change management skills. Laura's first book on the CARLA Concept (2005, Pinehurst Press) is out of print, but she is revising and will release her follow-up book, "Clear Cut Confidence: How to Raise and Issue and Prove Your Point in 5 Simple Steps" in Fall 2016.
On a personal note, Laura lived in a little old log cabin until Colorado's 2013 Black Forest Wildfire destroyed her home, along with 500 others. She now offers useful tips for other wildfire survivors at WildfiresOfChange.com and presents keynotes on resilience. Her forthcoming book, "Wildfires of Change: How to Rebound and Rise From the Ashes" uses her wildfire experience as an analogy for facing non-negotiable change in business and life.
Laura also writes humor at CabinMama.com and will soon release "Cabin Mama Stories: Tales from a Woodsy Woman" and "Lardie Laurie: How I Lost 17 Pounds in 90 Days". Laura is a Mom, USAF Veteran and outdoorswoman who enjoys family time, writing, reading, camping, kayaking, hiking, hunting, fishing and exploring beautiful Colorado.
