I know that Laura Mercier makes a different product specifically for dark under eye circles, but I believe this is the best product around by far. What makes it different than others is that it's not too greasy, so your eyemakeup won't run. That is what was happening to me with all the other concealers I tried which just made my dark circles appear even darker. I absolutely love this product and hope they keep it around forever.

Color: SC-8
I just purchased SC-8 for my dark skin tone by stopping by Bloomingdales without make-up and having a Laura Mercier make-up artist match my color. Thank god I matched up under SC-8 perfectly because this is the darkest shade available. I usually use Bobbi Brown's Walnut 8 foundation stick (which matches up to SC-8), but it never seems to cover the dark hyperpigmentation marks I get on my face from acne scars. The Secret Camouflage is only supposed to be used on your face (the Secret Concealer is for under the eyes), which is why I bought it.

This concealer truly camouflage's the dark spots on my face. It's like I'm painting on a canvas with the camouflage brush to gently and carefully even out my skin tone. The key is to take several swipes of each color (one matches your skin tone and the other matches your undertone) and then mix them together on your hand (I use the fleshly part of my palm under my thumb) until they match the skin tone right around the blemish you want to cover. Then, when you go over your blemish, it perfectly fades into your natural skin tone color and disappears. It's like magic!

The concealer has a hard, waxy consistency, so it doesn't seem like it will cover anything on your face, but once you put it on your hand, your body heat melts it so it mixes. Then it can go on your face very smoothly and is highly pigmented, so really covers those marks. This goes on after your foundation and must be set with some powder. It really works! I also use it on days when I don't want to wear make-up. On those days, I put it directly on my skin to cover up blemishes before heading out. I just always make sure to set it with some powder. (I use Bobbi Brown's pressed powder in Basic Brown or Golden Brown.)

I have tried a wide variety of under eye circles within the past few years. I have probably tried at least 30 different products, ranging from drug store to department store quality. (5 to 80 dollar range) While I do think that there is a product for everyone, this is not for me and in my opinion, anyone who loves it hasn't tried other brands.

The product feels nice, goes on smoothly, and is easy to apply. However, no matter how many different ways I try to use this, the coverage is barely better than just not using anything.

I usually love Laura Mercier, but I would greatly encourage everyone who loves it to get a makeover with a better dark circle concealer. Some aren't that expensive, and if you're curious about what I'm using, check my recent reviews as I just reviewed one that came in the same shipment as the Laura Mercier shipment from Amazon. It's the new favorite and I have posted before/after pics.

I have very dark circles under my eyes, and this product works well in camouflaging those dark areas. Love it and will definitely purchase again.

I had the camouflage in another style kit (little pot that also had powder underneath) and loved it. This, on the other hand, isn't even the same stuff. This is hard as a rock and blended terribly. Ended up buying some Mineral Fusion concealer and it is SO much better. Don't pay up for this.

I've got really pale skin (NO drugstore foundation is pale enough) and I've had this product for a year and it's all I ever use for concealer. The light color is too pale for me! Yay! I mix it with a little of the darker. I'm using up the lighter color more--wish the amounts were reversed! I've probably had 10+ other concealers and I've never liked any of them. This is the most expensive I've had, but it's cheap compared to the habit of trying one useless one after the other! I use a tiny brush--a little goes a long way. It mixes well with foundation or face creams if I want something lighter. If you use it lightly, it's as invisible as I could hope for.

Not much else to say, maybe there's something better but I'm done looking and will probably use this for life. My only complaint is that I wish the packaging were prettier. Or glam. Or SOMETHING! The dark purple/thick plastic looks really cheap. If I really start to hate it, maybe I'll scoop it out and put it in a pretty compact from etsy!

Edit: I also mush some of the cheap Maybelline yellow-ish under-eye concealer into the corner of the darker pan because even though I have cooler-toned skin, I find I sometimes need some pale yellow to mix with either shade, sometimes. I just looked up swatches of SC-2 and what do you know, the palest shade in it is quite yellow-y.

About the dryness, this concealer IS quite dry, but I like that--a tiny bit goes a very long way (I always use this in natural light because if I don't, and check it, I can often see some of the concealer on my face. I read somewhere that someone didn't like having to mix this with eyecream for the under-eye area, or to make it lighter, but do like having that possibility: you can't concentrate a too-sheer formula, but you can always go the other way with other favorite products.
