This Lauren brand 30-Inch steel string guitar is ideal for the young musician! Features include a classic dreadnought styled body and headstock with a natural finish. Due to the smaller scale length of the instrument, it's great for beginners or players with smaller hands. Sound, aesthetic, and price create the perfect harmony in this guitar.

The 7-year-old and 1/2 is learning by leaps and bounds, and is already picking a string and then strumming, and strumming down and up. She is reading ahead in her book. I think this must be a great age to start guitar. The 6-year-old is strumming down and up, but she likes to "wing it" a lot. She is the "songwriter," and can tell when a string is out of tune when she is playing a chord (to the instructor's chagrin he said the other day when he didn't notice the E was way off when she played a C chord). They can both use the electronic tuner. Oh, and Miss 6 informed me she needs a "brown" guitar, too, for playing on stage, because, "I'll be on stage a lot," lol. She says everyone (meaning all her heroes) play "brown" guitars on stage, and she'll use the pink one for practice :)
This guitar is the perfect size for her little hands and it stays in tune just fine. I would recommend this to anyone who asked
It's a cheap guitar, so my expectations shouldn't be too high, but the other reviews I read made me expect more. This guitar is nothing more than a toy. And it sounds like every other toy guitar out there. If this was the only guitar in your house your kid might be satisfied, but when your kid hears you play a real guitar it's hard not to see the frown on his face.
If you have a natural drummer in the family be sure to buy several sets of extra strings. They can find the most amazing things to drum a guitar with. My favorite was the wire whisks from the kitchen. They make a nice sound.
