The template provides drilling points for the center (left to right) and also points for screw holes that are 3", 3.5", and 4" apart. Each of these "widths" provide hole points that are 1", 1.25", 1.5", 2.5", 3", 3.5", 4.5", and 5" from the top. Obviously, you can flip it around and you have holes that distance from the bottom. So, when I had a drawer that was 6.75" tall, I set the template and used the holes 3" from the top.
I use this by setting the top ridge along the top (or bottom) of the drawer and then I use an awl to mark the locations that I desire to drill. I then use a brad point bit to drill my hole in the drawer front. If I desire an "unsupported" distance, i can place a spacer block between the drawer top and the top lip of the guide.
The guide also has two extra sets of holes. One is marked 50mm x 96mm, and the other is labeled 100mm x 96mm. This is for handles that have "holes" 96mm apart. The first set is 50mm from the top, and the other is 100mm from the top.
You can as easily use this to place handles that are not 'centered' by setting your "center line" at an appropriate location; for example, if you want to place drawer pulls3" from the left and write, just mark the spot then use this guide.
Why might you consider not purchasing this? If your handles are not "centered" or 3", 3.Read more ›
The ledge is also a bit shallow; therefore if you have curved or thick cabinet doors you will have to be careful that everything is square and lines up before drilling/marking. You can also find these as Home Depot for about the same price.

Very handy product. I had my 9 kitchen drawer pulls installed in about an hour. Just marked dead center, then used an ice pick to mark the 3 inch holes and drilled away. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Catherine Smith
