I could go on and on with flaws in episodes or episodes that were completely 100% flawed, but I don't want to this review to be about complete disappointment. Season 10 is the lesser evil out of the three season i consider the worst season of SVU. In fact, watching it again helped me change my mind about certain episodes. I use to not like the episodes "Persona," "Stranger" and "Hothouse," but watching them again made me realize they weren't all that bad. In fact, being written by SVU veteran writers such as Amanda Green and Dawn DeNoon, they better be good episodes. There is still a lot of good in season 10. And I'm not talking about James Brolin and Carol Burnett's guest starring bills, but rather the incredible writing from the better episodes like Hell and Confession. Though the season opener and closer were least of my favorite in the franchise, but a lot of the episodes in between were great. Even though for some reason they stop, they show a little bit about Benson trying to cope with her attack. Very little is mentioned about Sergeant Munch, but there is a lot about Elliot Stabler this season. We see him get in trouble, deal with his daughter and deal with being undercover, even though that episode was stupid. Micheala McManus as ADA Greylek did a great job filling in the shoes for for Diane Neal who played ADA Novak. She was a smart and beautiful character. It was stupid for them to let her go 3/4 into the season. Although I prefer Diane Neal, Micheala McManus was not horrible ADA. She wasn't even half as bad as Christine Lahti's ADA Sonya Paxton, who couldn't seem to NOT get in an argument with Stabler every episode.
The Verdict: Buy this season if it's available for at least around $25.00 Maybe $30.00 if you're a hardcore SVU. But don't buy for a penny over $30.00(not counting shipping of course). 20-25 it is worth. It is the best of the worst season three years of SVU. It's getting stale, yet it's still entertaining with most of its episodes.
I would buy this again and again.
The season opener was one to 'take your breath away' with suspense. DON'T MISS IT!!
