Ms. Holt' descriptions of the beauty of Santa Fe make you want to visit and now I think I need some Native American jewelry!
I look forward to the next book in the series!
I really enjoyed this series so far, this book does not need to be read in order but should because both are amazing, and you catch up with Clay and Kaitlyn in this book. I really enjoyed the back in forth with both characters they were fun to read and the crazy comments back and forth was super fun, I loved how they tended to "label" each other. I really enjoyed the passion in this book. I will say that there are some indication of adult scenes in this book so it may not be suitable for all ages. I really enjoyed how the author took the time describe the colors of the south west where you feel like you were right there with the characters. This book really flowed well and the story seemed to draw you in, in any and all aspects, it was super fun read and super enjoyable. I can't wait to read more from both this author and this series.
In this story, the sequel to Beware the Ranger (d another great book), US Marshall Jace Blackhawk, finds his match in Angelina Lord, a New York fashion designer. Angelina had gone to New Mexico with her friend, Kaitlyn, to find a new location for her designs. Waylaid by Kaitlyn's adventure, Angie is finally getting to Santa Fe but with Jace, best friend to Kaitlyn's new husband, Cody.
On the road to Santa Fe, a strong storm causes Jace and Angie to find a hotel for the night. No problem there but there is only one room available-the Honeymoon Suite. A case of mistaken honor leads them to a quickie marriage of convenience.
You really have to read the novel to get the full story about the marriage circumstances and where it all leads for Angie and Jace. The story is fraught with personal complications, past hardships and self-imposed walls. It is truly a lovely romance.
Detours may be the best part of life’s journey as Angelina Lord finds in her road trip to Santa Fe. As the book progresses, I fell in love with this area of the Southwest, the people and their ways. Simply a beautiful, funny at times, other times emotional intense story.
An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley.
The way Jace introduces Angie to his heritage and family traditions was so touching and held me enthralled. And their love story was beautiful even if it was not so traditional .
I did not want this book to end and I will be reading more by this author, and if only it was made into a movie so I could see Jace's home and art work and the back yard where he grilled and I would also love to see the camping site and oh the waterfall.
I recommend this one!
