Lawrence Wray was born in Northern Ireland in 1960.
After serving his time as a truck mechanic for four years has been self employed ever since.
For some reason still unknown, he started publishing successful bridal magazine, with absolutely no publishing experience. He then also started the largest bridal exhibition in Ireland which he ran for 4 years.
He says "I have always been a reader, first with comics as a child and then progressing to books of all kinds. When I was about 9 years old I got my sister-in-law to order a touch typing course from a club book - when all my friends were getting Action Man toys - so I guess that writing was on my mind even then. The first actual writing was when I started a video rental shop and published a weekly review guide on the newly bought stock. I have read thousands of books, most of them well written, but some of them made me think 'I could do better'. So after getting cancer in 2002,3,4&5 and being in the hospital for long stretches, I started my first novel; it was about a guy with cancer and I finished it ready to send out to the world, but then a virtually identical novel was released, and that was that. I started 'Money Man' in 2005 and then re-visited it in 2012 and finished it."
Lawrence has also written several short stories. 'The Briefcase', 'A Five Star Experience of a Lifetime', and 'Valentine's Surprise'.
He is currently working on his next novel which has the working title of 'Billy Bastard'. It's all about a guy growing up during the troubles in Northern Ireland, but with a business and paramilitary protection money twist.
Publication date is late 2012.
