“Once you have money and fame, the next thing you should expect is scandal and shame.”
Jean Marie Stanberry, an American author has not only opened the whole wide world behind the tinsel town dramas but also surprised us with the prospect of a quirky career for a forty something woman, in her new book, Laying Low In Hollywood .
I can't thank enough to the author, Jean Marie Stanberry, for giving me this opportunity to read and review her book, in return for an honest review.
Lane Jensen has crossed the forty marks in her age and has been divorced by her husband of twenty years and is also drowning in her professional life. Sounds terrible! 40 and everything goes berserk for Lane. But new opportunities open up, when Lane takes up a job in a TV reality show named, "Fire on Ice", which is more like skating with the stars, where Lane has to coach and choreograph the gorgeous and delicious football legend, Ron Brannon and professional skater, Elena Denkova. Reality show authorities have already warned Lane to keep her paws along with her feelings off Ron, since he is impossibly married, and the Reality show authorities don't want to turn the attention on their scandalous love-affair! But still attraction is so inevitable and laying low in Hollywood seriously sounds so impossible! Read the book to find out about Lane's keeping her affair low-key in Hollywood!
This is a nice, flirty, spunky, quirky, and totally light-read book, which I'm sure you'd bound to enjoy on while tanning on the beach! A "no-strings attached" kind of book! This book reminds me of Lady Gaga's famous song, Paparazzi. The book has got a colorful cast of characters who not only manage to bring out joy among ourselves but also make us fall in love with them instantly, especially, Lane, who is 40 but has a heart of a 20 something girl. This thing what I loved the most that the author has totally given a make-over to her protagonist, who doesn't end up her days as a lonely, divorced housewife, instead showing her as working in the Reality TV show, which is so promising. Well Lane is indeed an epitome for women of her age! The author's writing style is also quite fun and makes us engaged the moment Lane steps into the book and with the remarkable plot, the book is surely going to make you fall in love with the drama!
If you want to a ride over the behind-the-bedroom-door-dramas in the glittery tinsel town, grab this book for sure, since it is going to make your heart flutter with love and rush!
I believe with the help of a good editor, this could become a much better book.
It was just okay.
