Perhaps what makes this book most compelling are its two protagonists, Jack and Diane. Both smart, driven and idealistic, their passions for America and politics at points seem to overtake their passion for each other. Each gets deeply involved with their respective careers which happen to put them on different sides of the situation and yet, as we witness their individual choices and follow them along their tumultuous journey, we realize the depth of their love -- maybe before they even do.
Great pick for a book club with so much to discuss!
I was reading the last few chapters in a coffee shop ,I could not stop crying over the part that she was taken hostage. The author really makes you feel like you were living with the character at that time.
My other favorite part is how beautifully the lyrics were inserted in to the story.
Really looking forward to the continuation of the "the leadership Crisis"....
