The publication, “Leadership Piece by Piece,” was authored as a guide and information source for the Red Top (Junior Rank Black Belt Class Assistant) program of the American Martial Arts Institute. However, upon completion of reading the book in its entirety, I find that the information and guidance provided can apply to membership and responsibilities in other organizations as well, for example, National Honor Society, and B# Music Club membership, to name just two. Membership in these organizations requires commitment and service, which is repeatedly stressed throughout the chapters. Students are made aware of the necessity of accountability for everything they do, as actions have an impact on others in so many ways. I would recommend this book as an excellent resource to any students—and adults as well—who are are aspiring to achieve personal goals to their fullest potential.
I strongly recommend this book for anyone who is a coach, leader, or someone who wants to be a leader someday. From setting goals, to your body language, this book has it all. I have been training in the American Eagle Style for 7 years, and one of my goals is to apply for the Red Top program. This book has helped me out tremendously by giving me advice on how to be a good leader. Leadership Piece By Piece is beneficial for anyone who is currently a leader, or anyone who is aspiring to be a leader. -Z.S.
Also being an active Red Top in the program, I find this book to be very helpful and handy to those who would one day lead, in or out of the martial arts. This book is not only for those in this program or in the martial arts as it may be in the perspective of someone who is. The principles for real life applications can still apply. I found this book very helpful in not only teaching how to lead but also knowing when it is a good time to do so. All in all, I find this to be accommodating to anyone, and that it would be an amazing addition to a collection of books.
As a Red Top actively serving in the Red Top Program, this book is helping me see what it means to be a leader and who great leaders are. It is also helping me by serving as a guide outside of the martial arts. The book is full of information about both the American Martial Arts Institute and American Eagle Style, along with having plentiful amounts of knowledge that can serve as a tool to help you in everyday life. It is an excellent book to learn from, and a great addition to anyone's library.
