Shackleton is considered by many business experts and scholars to be one of the greatest leaders of all time. OF ALL TIME! So enough, all ready, with managing by wandering around—hopefully in one short minute—or by using mice as your role models—or throwing fish at people.
By anchoring leadership qualities to riveting stories from Shackleton’s Antarctic adventures, this book and its lessons will stick with you for the rest of your life.
Now, this may be a spoiler, but I can’t resist: Mike Pierce, aka “Antarctic Mike,” has walked in Shackleton’s footsteps by running in TWO marathons (one a mere 26 miles, and the other a 1,000-meter ULTRAmarathon!) on the frozen continent. Yes, he’s crazy…but he walks-the-talk like no one I've ever seen. Antarctic Mike knows more about EXTRAORDINARY leadership than most so-called “leadership experts.” Now that’s MY kind of crazy!
At the time, I knew Mike was writing a book and I have been anxiously awaiting the publishing. I just ordered the book and can't wait to read it, as I am sure I won't b able to put it down. As soon as I read the book, I'll be back to provide my assessment.
