Blog postWelcome to my stop on the Suzy Approved Book Tour for Trophy Life by Lea Geller.
I had such fun reading Trophy Life. Lea’s writing is warm and witty, like talking with an old friend, which is something you’ll find in this story too. In my reviews, I leave the summaries to the back cover copy:
For the last ten years, Agnes Parsons’s biggest challenge has been juggling yoga classes and lunch dates. Her Santa Monica house staff takes care of everything, leaving Agnes to focus on3 years ago Read more -
Blog postI liked this book so much I have two copies–paperback and I selected it as my March Kindle First selection. You’ll be able to love it with only one copy.
I’m Fine and Neither are You is Camille Pagan‘s fifth novel (I’ve read them all). One aspect of the story explores a topic I’ve been fascinated with: curated perfection. Penelope’s best friend is an online influencer with a “perfect” life, especially in comparison to Penelope’s messy one. But Pagan shines a light on how hard jugglin3 years ago Read more -

That is the final lesson that Amy York’s father sends her off to college with, never suspecting just how far his daughter will take it. Clinging to the Utensil Classification System as her guide, Amy tries to convince her skeptical roommate, Veronica Warren, of its usefulness as they navigate the heartbreaks and soul mates of college and beyond.

Blog postOne of my favorite things about being a writer is meeting other writers. It’s been a joy getting to know Maureen Joyce Connolly and reading her debut novel, LITTLE LOVELY THINGS, out April 2, 2019. An abduction novel that asks the question, how do we rescue ourselves after extreme tragedy?
Look for my full review on BookReporter.com later this month. Now, here’s your chance to get to know a bit about Maureen.

Blog postRom-Com Combines Beautiful Friendship, Quirky Dating Advice by Anne Eliot Feldman
Leah DeCesare’s debut novel Forks, Knives and Spoons (SparkPress) is a fun, fast-paced story that evokes both comedy and heart as a single dad sends his only daughter off to college with some last-ditch birds-and-bees advice.

I’m happy to share my chat with Heather in celebration of her big day. I was honored to have read BEDSIDE MANNERS early to blurb it. And now, let’s meet Heather.

Blog postSee below for how you can win a copy of Unbroken Threads.
It’s such a privilege to be a part of the Suzy Approved Blog Tour for Unbroken Threads. I had such fun getting to know Jennifer Klepper at a writer’s conference last spring. We hung out with a wonderful group of Women’s Fiction Writers Association members, chatting about the craft of writing and traipsing around Boston on a hunt for cannoli.

Blog postMy copy of KATERINA is underlined and dog-eared. It left me crying on the last page and wrenched emotion from me on every page. I loved returning to James Frey’s writing style from A MILLION LITTLE PIECES (which I will now reread). It’s poetic and powerful, breaking the rules of grammar and punctuation — which I find artistic, bold and freeing.

Naked Parenting: Guiding Kids in a Digital World
Feb 3, 2016
$3.99
From social media, apps, video games, texting, cyberbullying, privacy, and identity theft, guiding kids in a digital world can be overwhelming. Parents need concrete strategies to manage technology in our homes in ways that fit our family values and culture.
Naked Parenting is parenting stripped down to the bare basics focusing on seven keys to raising kids who are self-sufficient, confident, respectful, and resilient. The seven keys - love, honesty, communication, responsibility, discipline, mistakes, and gratitude - guide the discussion in this book on technology and cyberspace.
Naked Parenting approaches parenting in an honest, direct, and realistic way. Guiding children with love, nurturing their strengths and self image, and instilling personal responsibility are at the heart of Naked Parenting. It’s hard, if not impossible, for parents to keep up with the pace of technology. Forget juggling work, kids, commitments, volunteer jobs, and laundry. The good news is you don’t need to be literate in every new thing that crops up. However, you do need an awareness and a parenting framework that adapts to whatever comes next.
We need ways to manage technology in our homes in a big picture, broad way that will teach our children good digital citizenship, online responsibility, self-regulation, and how to benefit from technologies while staying safe. It’s a huge and important job. So how do we tackle all of that?
Naked Parenting: Guiding Kids in a Digital World gives usable tips applicable broadly to the digital world from a parenting perspective instead of from a techie viewpoint. While some specifics are used in examples and stories throughout the book, this is not meant to teach you any details about any currently popular Internet or mobile innovation. With the rapid changes in technologies, I want to give you tools that transcend specific platforms, devices, video games, or the app of the moment.
The principles of Naked Parenting overlap, interrelate, and reinforce one another. Understanding these seven keys will help you apply them across the countless scenarios of parenting through all stages and ages.
