  • "Levon runs a brothel of sorts for the boys that are called Lost Boys that were kicked out of Cornicopia at various ages. • "The way she includes poetry and some of the classics of literature is amazingly integrated into the story.  She still keeps the core of her writing style where it's over the top crazy fun. She has characters that you can't help but want to see happy. She does it in a way that is natural without trying too hard."  ~ Molly Lolly, Reader, Reviewer, Lover of Words

A Leap in the Dark is book 2 of The Assassins of Youth MC series by Miss Layla Wolfe. Although this can be read as a standalone, I would suggest reading Through a Glass, Darkly first. This way, it will help knowing the background stories.
Here we meet two characters, destined to be together, Oaklyn & Levon. Oaklyn is one smart, and sassy woman- a perfect compliment for Levon. Their relationship starts off a little rocky, but the steam and heat level sure does rise!!! I could not put this down….another awesome book I know you will love and embrace. I am waiting with baited breath for the next installment..

Book two in the Assassins of Youth MC series tackles the issues of homophobia masked as something else entirely, the sad situation with the Lost Boys (those young males who were cast out of the polygamist cult into the desert to die) and Oaklyn (Mahalia's sister) as she meets her match in Levon, an outcast himself who took the boys and gave them a home. Unfortunately, the "home" life was prostitution but Levon felt he was doing a service giving these kids an income and a safe place away from the cult. When Oaklyn comes to give the boys a physical exam, she fights an attraction to the man she feels is exploiting these kids until she gets a lesson in who is really the one to blame and has her eyes opened to the absolute corruption in their town.
As with all of Layla Wolfe's books, the dialogue is very frank, the sex explicit and the violence cruel and brutal. The characters are all complex and make you either fall in love with them or despise them with all of your being.
A very interesting and powerful follow-up to the first book and as much as it shocks with its gritty action, there are messages to be seen and lessons learned: what makes a person, no matter who they love, worth receiving that love and how dishonest some "good" men can really be underneath the fake front they put on for society.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

Levon Rockwell, owner operator of Liberty House, savior of Lost Boys tossed out of the Cornucopia compound meets his match in Oaklyn, the nurse who turns his thoughts, beliefs, and emotions upside down and sideways. Quotes and poetry from the likes of Wadsworth and Dickinson are peppered throughout only enhancing the dialogue between these two while Levon contemplates his former life in a polg community, terrorized by pedophile Morbots and feeling, for the first time, possible love for a woman. Oaklyn is looking to get rid of a loser of an ex while being judgmental of what the Liberty House Lost Boys do to survive. During their journey they are also dealing with Pratt a former tormentor of Levon who wants him back in his bed. The Assassins MC is cleaning up Avalanche and Levon decides to reroute his life by joining and opening a more legitimate business. Delroy, a Lost Boy who only wants to go to dental school and quit working at Liberty House deals with several demons and dark moments in his past but also provides the reader with lots of lighthearted laugh out loud banter along with wonder dog Lazarus. Who but Layla Wolfe would use quotes from Dostoevsky and Knut Hamsun in wedding vows? Once again I am amazed by the deep underlying meanings and prose she used to deliver this story.

Another Fantastic addition to the Assassins of Youth MC Series.
Wow this book is Beautiful in its own way. 5 stars
I love this series and with it based around a cult has my interest heightened it's such an interesting way on how there ran and these books pulled me in and even though we can't fully understand there mind sets its so intriguing.

We have young men who have been kicked aside and with nothing they find Levon who is an outcast himself he knows what these boys need even if it is not where they really would of chosen deep down but its survival and this book portrays survival on different levels.
They need safety and a place to lay there heads so Levon provides that the only way he could.
I knew how Oaklyn felt about Levon at first, your seeing him running a brothel and believe he's using these boys but then you get deeper into the store and even I started to like him for what he is.

This book was very different from the first this one shows the nature of Homophobia and true reality that these men have to survive. This very said thing is it happens every day just outside our doors.

Gritty, highly explicit and brutal but all well balanced.
Words can be binding and fear is everyone's prisoner. Everyone wears there own mask but some of them hid behind there's to gain that trust. It's amazing how these cults work and have the power they do.
This book will have you thinking and as me looking forwards to more.
I had the privilege to review this and highly recommend this and the series.

I can't get enough of of these bikers, oh my.
This story is milder in the while fundy B.S. then Gideon's story. It's there but not as much. This is about the oldest leader of the Lost Boys that has save many boys as he could and gave them a mission to live and work to make a good chunk of change and to create the Liberty Temple. Now these Lost Boy's that little there are escort's and bookers but they only do what they want no one forces them into anything. Oaklyn thinks that Levon is their pump (he also is a paid escort as well) and think he forces these boys to be paid for their bodies by old fundy pervs, but Oaklyn will take sometime into thinking that Levon was really their own savior. We get to meet Deloy he had a rough childhood when was caught making out with another boy and he was the one beat up and tossed away.
The current Mayor of Avalanche the evil sinful Ladell Pratt, will make is life mission to own his beautiful slave boy Levon. That man is crazy as a loon and making of a blackmail master mind. From the evil will help build The Assassins of Youth MC with new people, nurse Oaklyn, adopted little brother (my opinion) Deloy, and sensei Levon ( your just have to read what he teaches. Of course let's not forget Levin has a kink of BDSM. I do hope Deloy does get his HEA after everything he has gone through he needs his dreams to happen.
