You know how the second book in a trilogy can often be slow and maybe even a bit frustrating because you’re thinking to yourself “Come on! Move along faster please.” Well, this was not the case in this book, probably because so much happens.
Yes, it is different. For one thing, I think, there is less angst and WTF moments; but there is a lot more of those Awwww moments. You know the ones where you feel like your melting, that is, when you’re not insanely jealous. There is also more humour. I had lots of LOL moments; moments that made me send quotes to a friend because I was laughing so much. There were also those moments when I was mentally High Five-ing Lexi. I love that girl!
Although Lexi and Alex’s journey is not a smooth one (Did you really think it would be?); it was one full of love and VERY hot sex. (I don’t think I mentioned that in my review of A Twist of Faith.) Yes, there was hot sex in the first book, but not as much as this one.
We don’t see much of the other characters because this IS their story, but they do make appearances. How could they not? Each one of them has an important part to play, but you do see more of the men in Power Station; another VERY good thing.
I thought I had seen the last of the “bimbo with a bad boob job”; otherwise known as Marcy but she makes more than one appearance in A Leap of Faith. I probably shouldn't say this, but she makes me think of a girl called Marcy who I went to high school that was full of herself as well. Maybe that was because, the author’s characters seem real instead of fictional characters that I would never meet in real life.
And then we zoom back to Melbourne to meet Lexi’s family.Read more ›
So much to say without giving anything away......
First the sex his HOT!!! My goodness it is HOT!!! The love and connections was hotter!!! I know that is sappy, but oh it was good this go around. The love that Lexi and Alex share is amazing and I do believe we wish we all had that. I not saying what is writing is better than true life, but that connection that T. Gephart has developed is amazing and true.
That little %$^##@# Marcy just, well let's just say she is too much and needs her butt wiped and I volunteer!! (Yes I do know that the book is fictional, but until you know what she has done...she is too much. Again T. Gephart was amazing in the writing of this book).
I hate waiting on the next book!! Thank goodness it will be only 2 or 3 months, so I will survive. This whole series is a must read and I am counting down the days.
Just like the first book, l loved this one. I like a strong female character. Lately l have been reading books with the female being so wishy washy that l want to pull my hair out. Lexi is a strong character, sure, sometimes you want to say, "come on Lexi, get your head in the game", and by some book mystery, she hears you. I have never read a book where you see a character develop and grow so much. It's not a continuous circle, but actual growth.
Now let's not forget Alex, which is impossible. An Alfa male that really cares, great combination. Thanks for showing that an Alfa male doesn't have to be part a-hole, to make a great story.
The rest of the characters in this book had me laughing in places, gotta love Power Station. Those guys rock!!
What makes this series good, though there are three books, they don't end in cliff hangers, and the third book is out soon, so no waiting for over six months.
So again T Gephart, thanks for the emotion, the fun, and hot rock stars.
