Cook up some educational fun with the LeapFrog Cook and Play Potsy. An interactive and sassy guide, Potsy accompanies 1- to 3-year-olds through two modes of play, each with plenty of activities that teach a smorgasbord of skills and knowledge, including counting, opposites, nutrition and more. Cook and Play Potsy will inspire young children with songs, prompts, and open-ended imaginative play.
Potsy features two interactive modes - cooking mode and learning mode.
Potsy comes with several accessories, including an assortment of toy foods.
LeapFrog's Cook and Play Potsy will fire up your child's imagination with a talking and singing pot, an oversized spoon, and five plastic food pieces.
Whenever the broccoli, peas, tomato, cheese, or carrots are dropped into Potsy, or the spoon is stirred in his pot, he'll react with sounds, songs, or phrases that will delight your child. Playing with Potsy encourages the use of motor skills and pretend play, whether your child follows Potsy's directions or devises her own imaginative recipes.
Cleaning up after play is a breeze--put all the accessories in Potsy, close the lid, and put him away until the next cooking session. Potsy can be wiped down with a damp cloth for cleaning, but shouldn't be filled with, or submerged in, water.
"Cooking, Counting, Colors--Oh Yeah!"
Battery operated Potsy is playable in two modes. In the Cooking mode, stirring the spoon or adding food pieces to the pot triggers sound effects, facts about food and nutrition, and songs delivered in Potsy's colorfully infectious tone. The Learning mode teaches kids about colors and gives them an opportunity to practice counting.
Removing Potsy's lid during either mode teaches kids about opposites, such an on/off and open/closed. Potsy also encourages open-ended pretend play with interactive prompts.

Top customer reviews
On the upside, the veggie pieces are a hit. The textured & bright plastic makes them great fun to hold and put into other containers (like my shoes...). So there's hope.
Also, the sensor that tells Potsy when his lid is on is located on the rim of the pot. It's easily triggered by someone holding the pot in the wrong place. It's pretty confusing when Potsy starts singing "ON!" but the lid is off, and vice versa.
I'm not giving it three stars... yet... because I still think this will be a great toy. I guess I'll have to revisit this in a year or so!
when she's older, the songs about healthy eating will be educational, too. and i love when it asks you to put in different foods... somehow it knows which one you put in. (complete with splashing sounds)
if you put in anything unasked, potsy will announce the food you just put in with a really cheerful and enthusiastic voice. COOORNNN!!
for storage, everything fits inside... and the ladle's head rests into one of the handles just perfectly when the lid is on! you can store it all together!
i love it. it's so adorable.
A few reviewers have commented on the low sound, and they are right. However, I think that is a GOOD thing. The kid who is inches from the pot can hear it fine, but the rest of us can enjoy listening to whatver it is we want to listen to (other than our kid's toys).
I'd also like to add that the voice on this pot is HILARIOUS (hence the review title). It's not the usual ABC song and such...this one has a goofy guy's voice and sings what sound like made up songs, "I like it lean, I like it green, I'm a broccoli machine!" LOL When you take the lid off and on, he sings, "OFF!" and "ON!" in this funny fake opera-type voice. It's awesome. It makes me laugh, but most importanly, makes my daughter laugh. GREAT TOY!
The educational aspects are: on, off, open and closed for the lid.
The male voice sings counting to five and promotes eating vegetables and teaches color coordination with the different pieces.
I read a comment condemning the toy as having sexual overtones. I don't agree. The reviewer quoted the voice incorrectly. He actually says, "Let's cook something spicy. I like it spicy."
This toy has been dropped a number of times on my tile floor and still works well. It turns itself off after a time and after reminding you it's on with, "Ding. It's ready."
In all it's a fun toy my granddaughter gets out every time she's here.
