It's a good quality product(physically it does have it) the software on the other hand lags. I will be collecting more titles anyway.
Set-up is really easy, know your Wi-Fi password and have your computer on so you can log in and finish registration on their website. After the cords are all plugged in an registered your information is pushed to the console and your kids names will now be there. Easy. I was up and running within 10 minutes.
Gameplay: We don't have the best light, so I know there are issues with that. Even with the choppy images my daughter just loves watching herself on TV and is making it work. She thinks this is just the coolest thing ever and she never wants to sit down! She is a very active kid, so getting her moving is not a problem, but lately she is not asking for her favorite shows anymore she just wants more play time. I like that she is up and moving and the games are pretty interesting so I am all for it.
My oldest is 4 and her sister is only 18 months. Obviously, my little one is too little to have any attention for this. My preschooler can't get enough. Let's be real for a second. This thing is not going to make your kid a genius, but rather learn some general concepts through games. I know others say to limit screen time and that these things are only toys, but you know what she is 4 so I am going to let her play. I already taught her how to read which is really helpful because she can read everything on the screen without asking me what it all says. Her little sister watches and observes. She is learning quickly, so I think even she is getting something out of this.
I love the hard cartridges. Disks are difficult for a young child to manage on their own, but my daughter can easily switch the games and even put the cartridges away on her own. We are at the point where I need to set up the TV to this input channel and then she is completely on her own. I can't believe how lucky I have been with her. She is very proud of herself when playing this too, so I am usually close by so she can tell me about what she is doing in the game. I am really surprised at how much more family time we actually have instead of just watching her shows on TV during her set times.
I highly recommend this, but maybe not at full price. I will get another controller so I can play with her and see how that goes. You need really good lighting on your child to get the camera to work right. Play with the setup, I found that the camera was better on top of the TV instead of below it. Remember that the whole body becomes a controller, so the kids can lean to one side of the screen and hit items with their heads. A lesson learned by accident in our case. I thought it wasn't working right and then realized her head was actually hitting the swing in the pet game which she thought was even cooler. If you have any questions please comment and I would be happy to try and answer them for you.
With that being said it's pretty good for a 2 year olds first gaming system. She enjoys it and will actually play it for an hour straight. In all it was a good concept and fit her age for now.
