About the Author
Dr Alex Davidovic is an educator with over 25 years of experience in helping students of all ages reach their potential. Dr Alex’s PhD on adaptive tutoring systems has served as the basis for highly practical applications such as FAME method for rapid guitar mastery. Following his graduation from the Music Academy in 1996, Milan Mitic performed in solo guitar concerts all over Europe. When asked about his favorite personal moments, Milan singled out the ovations he received at DEIA Music Festival in Palma De Mallorca, Spain, and the incredibly enthusiastic reception of his lectures at the Conservatory of Karditsa and Thessaloniki, Greece. Dr Alex and Milan are the co-authors of the FAME guitar-learning method.

▲ A great deal of emphasis is put on how each hand should be placed when playing the instrument. I thought that part was very well done. As the authors emphasize, you want to get it right from the very beginning.
▲ A few excellent photos depicting how exactly one should hold the instrument.
▲ I liked the inclusion and definition of special terms used in the art. It would have also been helpful to have the pronunciation shown. For example, "apoyando," and "tirando." (I think I can say them right, but not sure.)
▲ There are a list of musical exercises at the rear of the book. They are categorized by which string the notes are on, then they progress to simple pieces of music.
▼ One thing that puzzles me, and it's just a minor nit-the authors state that after using this book, you will be able to "Read and understand music notation." But I don't see any discussion of music notation at all--just the exercises. Perhaps future editions will have a discussion of musical notation?
✔ Pretty basic intro, but a decent place to start for someone who wants to start learning classic acoustic guitar. Of course, I'd rather take lessons from these experts in person!
