About the Author
Shannon Leavitt, MS, RD, is a nutritionist, certified personal trainer, professional health coach, and hatha yoga instructor who has worked with hundreds of students and clients over the past twenty-five years.
Leavitt earned her BA in psychology from the University of Minnesota and her MS in nutrition from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She worked as a dietitian and trainer before opening her own business in 1992. Inspired by the power of yoga, she continues to create new methods for helping others achieve their wellness goals. In 2003 she created Yogalift®, a fusion of yoga, strength training, and meditation.
Shannon’s work has received acclaim from fellow professionals, most notably, The Yogalift Inner and Outer Strength Workout DVD was named Best Yoga Video by Health Magazine at their inaugural Best of Fitness Awards in 2005.
