Without the audio, it is of limited use to a complete beginner, but with the free audio link it does allow the language to "flow over you" as the author suggests. Section two contains the vocabulary with transliteration, and if you gradually work your way through this, in the bite size chunks, you will understand more of the story and how the Hebrew language flows, every time you re-listen or re-read.
This is how children learn from stories being read to them repeatedly whilst they look at the words. The recording of the story is excellent. It is read slowly and clearly, and before long you will be able to follow along with relative ease. This kind of book/audio combo is a gem when it comes to improving reading, listening and comprehending the Hebrew language. I know the alephbet and have a limited Hebrew vocabulary, but using this book and audio as intended has been the biggest boost so far to my progress. Thank you! Please keep producing these delightful stories in this format.
