If you are not familiar with how to use Photoshop Elements 12 photo editing software, this tutorial is a very easy way to learn how to use the important concepts of the software. This course contains 14 hours of video lessons that can be played on your computer or even a DVD player.
The Elements workspace, where you load and organize your images, has a number of tools and a window where your photos appear. The lesson helps you navigate this space and understand what all the icons mean (magic wand, cropping, dodge, burn, sharpen, etc.)
Elements relies heavily now on the "Organizer." If you learn how to use the Organizer efficiently, you will speed up your photo editing tasks. Even if you were familiar with older versions of PSE (say, version 8 or earlier), the Organizer has changed so much and become such an integral part of the software, that this part of the tutorial is almost worth it alone.
I used the tutorial to create a slideshow with music, and export it to a video. I used vacation photos, and with the ability to organize each shot and sync up some music, it looked almost like a video, even though I just used stills from the camera.
If you want to create panorama shots (which are VERY popular around here) that is also covered. Photoshop Elements has a way to create a panorama from a series of shots, so you don't need a panoramic camera. You can stitch photos together to create a wide scene.
The problem-tools section is valuable for learning how to correct and retouch photos, especially those vintage photos you've scanned in from family albums.Read more ›

Elements 12 is an extension of previous Photoshop software. The actual product is okay, however, support for technical issues with the software is worse than pathetic. Read morePublished 11 months ago by Kenneth Rexroth
