I recently found this in a desperate attempt to find a suitable reading program for my very active child. We have tried a few different one's that just didn't fit our needs. I have to say; I am impressed with this program. The lessons are short and simple making them ideal for an active child. The author's suggestion to make a daily habit of doing lessons three times a day has worked well for us. It is wonderful to see him cheerfully run over to 'read' his new words. I love watching his confidence increase with each lesson. I am so thankful to find this simple yet effective program. Many thanks to the author.

She even has read her first full story by herself and told me that she loves reading. I am so excited about this program thank you Lee for all he adaptations you made I am an avid reader now (age 66) but struggled all through school and hated reading as I could not understand realized many years later that I was caught in reversals- so is my granddaughter she is very ambidextrous and has a hard time remembering to read left to right I am debating on ordering the workbook as finances are hard right now but I know I can print on line (bless Your Hear for making easy peasy free) I found out about it from my niece who uses your sight for all her kiddo's. We can tell the kids this is a book kids have been learning to read from for over 100 years! This is the "blue primer" reprinted to be more recognizable in a modern font. I have a facsimile of the original and it would be unreadable for a new reader. Interchanged f's and s's and whatnot. This book goes along with the totally free online curriculum allinonehomeschool.com but is great for people like us who "unplug" to take some school with us. You do NOT have to buy this book to use the curriculum, it truly is simply a reprinting of what is online. We use both.

I am appreciative of how inexpensive this product was available for, as I didn't have a printer, to print of the worksheets and readings. This was an awesome alternative to starring at a screen to do our school work. The book, while paperback, is pretty darn sturdy. It has stood up to my three year old, beautifully.

Although we can get the readings online, my daughter loves having her very own book to hold. She is always practicing the lessons we have completed. Font format big problem.

So far, liking this pretty well. However, I have one really big complaint and that is the font. My 5 year old keeps getting confused by the lowercase 'a' because some are printed in the circle with a line format and others are printed with the curve at the top. It's confusing him and he doesn't understand why they're different and just thinks I'm trying to confuse him. Something so simple shouldn't have been overlooked when creating this book.
