I thought this book was just so cool. I am a sucker for trivia and unusual facts, so this book was right up my alley. The pages are brightly colored, and each page is accompanied by a really cute illustration, so it was really fun to read.
Even though this book is not all that long and does not contain all that much text, I still was not able to sit down and read it all at once. I think I started to suffer from fact overload. I read it over the course of a few days. For those apt to read in the bathroom, whether in the tub or otherwise indisposed, this makes great reading, because, well, like I said, it is fun.
One thing I will say, some of the facts in the book made me want to go do research, because they were so unusual or hard to believe. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, it will get people reading more about those topics.
So all in all, a cute little novelty book that anyone would enjoy.
LEARN SOMETHING EVERY DAY is a collection of interesting, although fairly useless, facts. It is the type of book that could be picked up casually and read in a random fashion; however, once a reader gets a peek at just a few of the unique facts, it will be difficult to put this one down.
Here are a few samples to whet your appetite:
"Staying awake for two weeks can kill you."
"Ferrets can suffer from depression."
"Originally brides carried flowers to mask body odor."
"The longest carrot was nearly 20 feet long."
The facts are printed on lively colored pages and include simple but appropriate illustrations. This book is perfect to motivate reluctant readers. Simply hand them this book and you'll "catch" them reading before they realize what they're doing. LEARN SOMETHING EVERY DAY is also a great gift for the trivia buff who already has one of everything!

Based on their colorful cartooned website, learnsomethingeveryday.co.uk, the "We Are Young" design studio creators Peter Jarvis and Gethin Vaughn together form Young--and their book is here to help you stay just that: in heart, spirit, and especially mind.
There is a lot of interesting information packed into this small book. It would be perfect for gift giving or for yourself. It's not only entertaining, it is also educating! Did you know that strawberries contain more vitamin C then oranges? Or did you know oysters can change gender? Did you know Charlie Chaplin once came in third in a look-alike contest? You'll find all of these and so much more in this vibrant and colorful book. Sophophobia is the fear of learning! You won't have that if you get this book! I've put mine on my desk at the office.
One of those books that always calls your guests attention. =P
Now that the website is kind of over, a must have to celebrate this project.

Has nice little drawings with every fact. Kid friendly as well. I read it in one day though. A little pricey. I got a used copy, and that worked for me.Published on August 16, 2013 by A. Salman
