I've never reviewed a book on Amazon before, but I was so thoroughly disappointed in this book! Chapter 3 entitled "Some Helpful Tips for Raising Your Australian Shepherd Puppy" is IDENTICAL to Chapter 16 - word for word! Same problem with Chapters 8 and 30 entitled "Make it Easier and Healthier for Feeding Your Australian Shepherd" - identical word for word. The editing in this book lacks as well. One example is in Chapter 13, "How to Teach Your Australian Shepherd to Sit", he writes, "You would want your dog to be standing in front of you, and then with a piece of treat in your fingers, show the dog the terat, and keep it about NOISE level." Noise level? While there are a few tips in there, I bought this book to learn how to train my Aussie. What I learned for the most part is that I need to take our puppies to as many Obedience classes as possible.

This is the most pathetic book I've ever read. It's so poorly written I wonder if the author graduated from high school. The information is recycled from other book and seems like the breed was just copy/pasted into it. Do NOT waste your money.

I'm assuming this was a self-published Kindle author or something. I only made it through the first 10-15 pages (Kindle version) because the typos were just too distracting and the content wasn't great anyway. Every paragraph is in quotation marks, yet it never actually quotes anyone. There are several typos and misspellings that just kept me from really getting into it, such as "threw" used instead of "through" on one page, and other examples such as "the pet business if filled with tons..."

If you're looking for a book on Aussie's check out this book instead. Very good read, and includes some great tips for training your dog. [ASIN:1582450269 The Essential Australian Shepherd (Essential (Howell))]]

I would not recommend this book because it is full of typos and the information on the breed of dog is very generic. The author just did a 'copy and paste'in describing the breed and how to train them, and you could put in any breed for the great majority of the chapters. I would rate this a 1 star.

This is the worst written book I have EVER read. It is very obviously self-published as there are a myriad of typos. There are commas where there shouldn't be, misspelled words, wrong words and the information contained seems very generic and not breed specific. I couldn't even get past about page 20 because it was so poorly written! It was hard to read and the tips were not helpful. I would never recommend this book to anyone.

I only bought the book because I felt sorry for Vince after reading his bio. Was not disappointed - worst book ever! My 8 year old nephew could have written better. Do not waste your money

This book obviously missed the editor's desk, page after page of gross grammatical errors and redundant information. A 10 year old could have produced a better version.

It is okay as a basic resource. However, I think any basic resource book for dogs would have been adequate.
