Editorial Reviews
Review
“Kolb’s Triple E Framework is an excellent tool for helping teachers focus on using technology to support learning and not just using technology for its own sake. She provides a highly beneficial collection of case studies as well as practical suggestions for how her framework could look across all different grade levels and subject areas. For anyone interested in thinking more about how technology can be used to support learning, I absolutely recommend this book.” -- Michael Karlin, EdTech Roundup
“…the Triple E Framework is the first concrete ‘tool’ to help a specific teacher think through the role of specific technology in their specific classroom.” -- Cathie Norris, Elliot Soloway
“If you are a district implementing a 1:1 program ... do yourself a favor. Have your leaders read this book. Research-based, common sense, practical and instantly useful.” -- The Lighting of a Fire blog
“[Kolb] was putting into words so many things I witnessed and felt as I worked in dozens of classrooms over the past five years. What I love about her work is that it's clear, practical and backed by research.” -- Mike Petty

A Great Book Recommended For Every Teacher!

The book is a call to action for all teachers. The framework is so clear that even new teachers can benefit from it and find out about how to apply technology in the best way to their settings. The white space is used effectively. So, it is very easy to read. At the end of the book, there are case studies where you can find examples from the field and the authentic projects that meet 2016 ISTE standards. As a teacher, I liked it very much!

As a veteran educator using technology on a regular basis, this book made me question the use of technology tools in the classroom in a meaningful way. We must think about the learning goals first, then add the technology tools to engage, ehnhance, and extend learning. Each of these topics is fully explained in this book and supported by research and ISTE standards. I couldn't stop reading! I found myself highlighting, bookmarking, and wanting to share what I was learning with other educators. It's packed with research backed strategies, ideas, and resources. The format of each chapter is easy to read and to digest. "Take aways" summarize each chapter. The Triple E Framework provides educators with a simple, effective, and efficient way to evaluate the technology tools they are using with students. This book is a "must read" for any educator using technology in the classroom. Don't miss this one!

Unlike other frameworks for the use of technology, this book puts the learning goal front and center and provides teachers a rubric to analysis whether technology will be a value add tot the learning process. Liz Kolb also reminds teachers that their instructional moves are a critical component to the success of student technology use. This book is a great guide for districts looking for the ‘why’ of instructional technology use. For schools who are stuck in low-level use and want to be more purposeful with the use of technology in teaching and learning, this book can help start those conversations and begin a rethinking process. Even if you’re an innovative teacher, grab this book — you’ve got something to learn.

This book was great balance of providing a framework for teachers to make wise decisions in how to use educational technology purposefully. I love that the author included best practices according to instructional research but then gave a variety of real word case studies, and walked the reader through why or why not that lesson followed best practice for technology use in the classroom.

This is a must read for any teacher using technology. I've too often had that "so what" moment after teaching a lesson incorporating technology. This book brought into focus how to address those moments, how to think about technology as a tool, and the importance of using the right technology at the right time.It is certainly not enough to engage students because, as we know, engagement can be short-lived, even with technology. Technology must take our students deeper and further. My own internal rubric will forever now include engage, enhance and extend.

This book is amazing! The framework is extremely helpful in getting us to think about how we use technology and the teacher moves that can be used to support that use.

I like the way the author detailed each framework and gave clear examples. The book is definitely relevant and I encouraged all teachers to get a copy, not just to have but to plan lessons with. It is essential nowadays for teachers to be aware that using technology doesn't mean integrating technology. We have to know the difference and integrate technology in a way to maximize students' engagement, enhance their learning and extend the learning experience.

The book provides a great way to aide in making sure instruction is first and that technology then enhances the lesson.
