The print-making instruction itself was also pretty brief, to the point sometimes (as in the case of sharpening your tools) of being completely useless.
I did learn a method of registration for multiple color blocks, so that's a plus.
Also, while there were some good examples of linocuts from artists other than the author, they were all reproduced really small, so they were hard to really see and study. I would have liked a whole lot more of those (and bigger).
If you want an excellent book on linocut, get George Walker's The Woodcut Artist's Handbook. It applies to any relief printing (including linocut), and is much more in depth. It also has a lot more reproductions of other artists to study.

This is an okay book about linocut, I didn't really like the format and it seemed pretty basic. Not a bad book for a beginner, but there are better books out there.Published 6 months ago by carmen Moses
