Helping Hands Fine Motor Tool Set
For ages 3+
Four tools and four different ways to develop the small hand muscles needed for writing and daily living. As children have fun playing, picking up objects, and squirting and sifting water, they are developing hand control and acquiring the skills needed for self-help and daily living needs. Motor planning is also part of the play as children figure out how they need to move their hands and arms to pick up objects. It helps children develop stability and learn how to control parts of their body while other parts move. Fine motor skills can also contribute to communication skills. Being able to write a note, use a computer, or draw a picture are all ways children communicate and they require fine motor skills. These Helping Hands Fine Motor Tools are the perfect set to prepare children for using and controlling their hands and fingers with purpose and precision.

Hands On and Off Sensory Play
Get your hands on sensory play with tweezers, scoopers, and droppers. They are also great tools for children who may be reluctant to touch sensory play. They can interact, learn, and enjoy without feeling the different textures on their skin.
Tools help train and strengthen hands to be able to cut with scissors and coordinate writing with a pencil.
Included in the set are:
Gator Grabber Tweezers are small to fit a child’s hand comfortably and contoured to prompt children to use a tripod grasp, similar to how they hold a pencil. (measures 4 inch L)
Handy Scoopers is a unique tool and a handy way to build the muscles needed for cutting with scissors! Easy grip handles have a double hole for fingers and a single hole for a thumb, like scissors do to help children master holding, opening, and closing the tool. They feature translucent scoops with holes to allow for catch-and-release fun during water play. (measures 6 inch L)
Twisty Droppers put a fun twist on water play and strengthen whole hand grasp with a squeeze bulb to pick up and release water through the twisty tube. (measures 6 inch L)
Squeezy Tweezers are opened and closed by squeezing in the middle of the tool. This strengthens small muscles in the fingers and hands while developing more refined finger grasp to help with writing, buttoning a shirt, or picking up small objects. (measures 4.75 inch L)
Help students develop fine-motor skills and strengthen hand and finger muscles needed for writing. Includes 1 of each tool: Gator Grabber Tweezers, Handy Scoopers, Twisty Droppers, and Squeezy Tweezers. Ages 3+.

My daughter's favorite "tool" from this set is the orange squiggle one with the blue squeeze top; she loves filling it up with water in the bathtub and squirting us (oh joy!) or rinsing off her tub animals. I have been encouraging her to use the yellow tongs when she plays in the rice bin, and I'll hide small rocks or toys in the bin so she can scoop them out. I'd like to use the orange alligator tool for that same purpose, but she struggles with that tool the most, so I'm not pushing it yet. We are making some progress with the "scissors" tool, and I'm hoping that will help her get used to that hand positioning as she transitions to scissors for preschool and beyond. Overall, this is a great set that encourages fun while helping with fine motor skills. My daughter is tough on her tools/toys because she doesn't know how much force to use, but these tools are all intact after three months of use. Great product!
The yellow piece specifically was an interesting tool. You push the handles to open the cups. It took him a bit to figure out how it worked, but he was interested enough to focus on the task.
The scissors portion of the pack has done well on teaching him hand placement although I think it would not have worked as well if he was left handed.
The tweezers were quickly lost as they didn't work well with the beans we were using it for, but they did work well with picking up paper.
The eye dropper is probably his favorite out of the lot. It goes in the tub with him, when he washes his hands, and when he's at his water table. It does not seal, so the water drips out the tip after its sucked in, so there is no walking about with water in it, but there were no issues with the bulb portion.
These were all very durable plastic and have held up to months of usage. The colors are bright and interesting. It has made a great addition to our therapy training.
