Burned out, cynical monster killers with heavy caliber weaponry and all manner of knives, swords and axes fight monsters of every description. The stories are nicely grouped into monster type with the lycanthropes setting the stage and vampires, demons and witches making an appearance.

Some of these stories are so well written I wished they could be turned into novellas or full-length novels and sadly a few (but just a few) seem like the first drafts were submitted and printed. Do not let that keep from purchasing this collection. That's the joy and charm of anthologies.

I'm a big fan of the monster hunter genre- not so much for the monsters, but for what hunting them does to the characters in the stories. From Moby Dick on down, it's just fascinated me for a long, long time.

So I was very happy to pick up Leather, Denim and Silver. There are a ton of different stories in here, and each author had such a unique take and voice I was delighted. I also liked how the stories were grouped into the different monsters hunted - The Werewolf Hunters, The Vampire Hunters etc.

Now, to be fair, the quality of the stories is a little uneven, but the good ones are SO good, I didn't mind a bit. Two thumbs up!

I've read many stories in this great book so far, and I have to say, I'm loving each one. For those who just want a good suspenseful read, full of legends, monsters, and hunters, well this is the book!!

Two white gloved thumbs up from the Evil Jester!!
