Review

The story feels as real as any true love story
By Devi Nair, The Verdict's Out Reviews
Format: Kindle Edition
After Mac Coalson's story "Whistlin' Dixie", I was really looking forward to the next in the Coalson brother series. Now Maggie Adams is back with Sam Coalson's love story. After reading the story, I really felt that the wait was worth every anxious second spent. The book not only lives up to the expectations, but also goes beyond it.

Sam and Angel feel perfect for each other right from the word 'go'. They were childhood sweethearts and it could have been a perfect happily ever after. However unforeseen circumstances and difficult choices from both ends separate them from each other and thus put an end to a perfect love story. But two people who are meant to be together, always do end up together. That is how the Universe conspires. And that is how it happens here as well.

The thing to look out for in this book is not the romance. The romance is typical and anyone who reads Romance novels know that the protagonists always end up together. But, the flow of the story, the suspense in between and the perseverance of Sam and Angel at various points of the story is catching factor here. It is said that a healthy relationship does not consist of two strong people; it consists of two people who take turns to be strong when the other one is weak. Maggie brings this line perfectly into use with the story and that holds the crux of Sam and Angel's relationship. The story feels as real as any true love story. Coalson brothers do have a knack of nailing the lessons of relationship deep into the readers' mind. Read it to know how a relationship truly is, with all of its ups and downs.

This is the second book in the Tempered Steel Series and boy was it hot! Leather and Lace is even more sensual and sexy than the first book Whistlin Dixie and I loved it. Sam's hurting inside and really gives his cocky attitude to Angel, creating the best sexual tension ever in this hot romance. I could not put it down until I finished it. I can't wait for the next book, highly recommend this warm-hearted, sexy and romantic read!

Couldn't get enough of this book! Grabs you and hooks you to it. See what a family goes through to protect each other. What looks one way turns out to be another, and betrayal turns to protection and love. Looking forward to book three, and the next family member to find the solution to the family problems!

Sam Coalson fell in love with Angel Devereaux almost instantly. Sam comes from a hard working blue collar family. He was not the kind of person Angel's father wanted her with. Sam wasn't high class enough for the likes of the Devereaux's. Angel loved Sam and didn't care about money or class, just Sam.

But Angel's father would do anything to ensure that Sam was removed from Angel's life, permanently.

Fifteen years had passed since Angel and Sam last saw one another. Sam is still completely devastated and heartbroken over Angel's choices all those years ago but it hasn't diminished his love for her. Angel has tried desperately to explain her actions but Sam wants no part of it. She still truly loves him and knows that they won't have a true relationship or future together until they can put the past to rest. But how can they do that when Sam doesn't even want to be in the same room with Angel.

The Coalson family is still trying to figure out who is behind the fire at the Coalson Construction office and the vandalism at the rebuilt properties. When the family think that they finally have a lead on this issue, it turns out the something more disturbing and devious is in the works in their small family town. Just when you think the excitement has ended, something new takes place and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I enjoyed the first book but I love this book. I am hoping that this will be the trend for the series as a whole...each book just keeps getting better. Someone gets attacked, someone gets held against their will and beaten, suspicious packages are planted in an unlikely place. There was something exciting almost at every turn.

Every time I would think the drama would subside and happiness would ensue, a new twist would happen. This fact kept me very intrigued in the story and very excited about the next book in the series. Can't wait to see what Maggie Adams has in store for the Coalson family next.

Sam Coalson, an ex-Navy Seal, has returned to his hometown after 15 years to attend his brother’s wedding. If it wasn’t for the wedding, he would never have returned to the town that turned their backs on him and blamed him for something he didn’t do. The last person he wants to see while he is in town is Angel Devereaux. She’s the one who broke his heart and chose against him and he has never forgiven her nor has he ever forgotten her.

Angel lost the man she loved 15 years ago through her own decisions but when she tried to explain the reasons behind her decisions to him, he wants nothing to do with her. He is still so angry he cannot even be in the same room as her. Angel knows that if she can just get Sam to listen to her, they can work out their differences and have the love they should have had all those years ago. You have to love a woman that doesn’t give up and Angel is determined to win Sam back and she sure is tenacious and sticks it out, even when Sam is being hard headed.

In the midst of all this, someone is vandalising and setting fires at buildings owned by the Coalson family and something more sinister is at play than just petty vandalism and arson. The twists and turns are thrilling and suspenseful and just when you think you know all there is to know, another secret pops up and throws you for a loop.

This Series keeps getting better and better and I’m looking forward to wait Maggie Grace has for us next.
