Both as a lover of Chandleresque mysteries and as a student of the craft of writing, Leave a Good-Looking Corpse is a delight. Enough twists to keep anything from every being obvious before it's supposed to be. Three-dimensional people who you like even when they do stupid things or you dislike just because that's who they are.
Read it in two sittings. It would have been a single sitting but I'd driven from Santa Barbara to Sacramento yesterday when I started it and I was too tired to stay awake until 3 am to finish it.
Bravo, sir. Eager to read "Read 'Em and Weep" which is lying on the nightstand beside me. And then to buy all your other books, pronto.
