Near Hinton, OK there is a retreat Center called Canyon Camp. They let quilt groups rent the lodge for quilt retreats. It is ran by the Methodists Church and is also a summer church camp for kids on the other end of the canyon, it is a beautiful red rock canyon. Anyway several years ago they needed new bedding for their 40 - 3 bed rooms, in the lodge and they made a deal with different quilter groups to make quilt for they beds for free nights in the rooms. Some friends and I had made 3 quilts for a room that had Leaves of gold in each one. By chance, I Google "Leaves of Gold" and found this book. I bought it and enjoyed the reading. the copy while it used, it was like new. This Spring we left it in the room with the quilts for others to enjoy as a gift from our small group. It has writing's from a number of people and is very up lifting.

I spent hours as a child practicing my reading skills in this book. I assume they produced new editions periodically. I recall more artwork, pen and ink sketches and slightly different content but it was probably an older edition. Very happy nonetheless.

I gave it as a gift to my 15 year old granddaughter....she called to tell me how she loved it. I'm sure she didn't have anything like it. (My grandmother gave a copy of this book to my mother when she was 16. My mother gave me a copy when I was 16. Now I've passed on the tradition to my two granddaughters. I hope they will keep it going in the distant future.
I have only two grandsons which I'm thinking about giving each a copy of this book---Thanks you for keeping it alive.

Years ago I had 2 books, "Apples of Gold" and "Leaves of Silver" which I gave to my granddaughter. Looking through books on Amazon I came across a book called "Leaves of gold" , it was reasonably priced and stated in good condition, I ordered the anthology, it arrived quickly and in condition described. So very happy with my purchase, and I am enjoying it more than the 2 books I gave away. I will be looking for other books I may have given away, suggest you do the same...Amazon is a great place to look.

There are some amazing snip its and poems in this short book. I have enjoyed thumbing through it and reading the poems, thoughts, quotes, and words of wisdom on so many different topics! Some are dated, but are still applicable to everyday life today. I really recommend this to anyone and everyone.
