Shells, sand, sea, salt and hurricane have Wed with love and forgiveness and loyalties well here.
Thank you for giving us another series to anticipate!
After reading Saving Grace seems to me Katie took a huge step backward in her self-reliance and confidence in herself and the new life she built. It just doesn't read right – – in the first book she leaves her life, career and family to move to this fictitious island and restore a house. This upheavel occurs in part due to a seemingly one sided lust for a MARRIED MAN Who tells her that the relationship can't happen – – which he has the perfect right to do, even though the story alluded to and imminent divorce. There was never any physical contact between the two of them nor was there any relationship other then an attraction which he decides not to act upon.
This story opens after she "rebuilds" her life on the island complete with a new guy Who by the way decides he likes her and she kind it just goes with it – no self examination, no getting to know withi Who by the way decides he likes her and she kind it just goes with it – no self examination, no getting to know him. your standards are so low seems like she just takes him because he's not all gaga over Ava THEN the previously married Nick reappears and she falls apart like a teenager in high school and not a thirtysomething woman. Without giving too much of the story away she immediately sleeps with him--breaks up with her current "boyfriend" in an immature and weird way. SOOOO, after whiningly saying "you hurt me Nick" and on and in about how much he simply devestated her by telling her before a relationship couldnt happen, she said the all giddy forgiving and sleeps with him.
If you want to get caught up in the drama of a woman who doesn't look before she leaps, and thinks and ask like an immature teenager go for it--jury still out for me if I'm going to continue to slog through this book or just trash it.
This author is not in the same category as other well written novels I like to read. No depth of character, no fleshing out of the people. I do not understand all the accolades the series has gotten.
