I was up until 1am finishing this book, and woke up at 7am still thinking about it.
Legacy of the Dog is truly captivating, I didn't want to put it down and I had a hard time not skipping ahead to make sure everything was going to turn out okay! I was completely engrossed in the story of Jess and Ty, the brothers, the ranch, the stranger who enters their lives to cause trouble.
Admittedly Jess frustrated me on more than one occassion- she was at times childish and immature, difficult and exasperating, but she has a huge heart and everything she did was to protect her family. I loved the relationship she has with her brothers, they are her biggest supporters and the love they all share is really special. Her relationship with Ty, her adopted brother, is a major plot point of this story, but I wish we had gotten more time with them together, to be honest.
Legacy of the Dog is an engaging take on the coming of age story- it's a love story with a twist. It's a marvelously told tale that held me in its grip until the very end.
