Amazon has the worst packaging for books of all the online book retailers

I purchased this book for my son who is a Nintendo fanatic and loves the Zelda: BoTW game. Upon receiving the book I noticed and could feel it moving around in the box a lot. When i opened the box I immediately noticed the damage(see pics). If I did not care that the book would get damaged or would show wear after some use then I would have purchased a Prima Games brand but I purchased this specific book because it is an official Nintendo product(published by Dark Horse Comics) and my son collects official Nintendo products. Amazon packed this book, which is quite heavy, in an oversize box with no padding material, which let the book slide around and bang against the inside walls off the box during shipping. There is damage to the corner on the front cover, and the front cover is bowed and does not sit flat when held closed. I am completely disappointed how Amazon packages there books. This is the second book I have purchased in two weeks that I have received with damage to the corners. I will be requesting a replacement or I WILL BE RETURNING FOR A REFUND.For the book itself:I personally own a couple of illustrated game books and considered them high quality. I was stunned on the initial flip-through. I had expected the book to be stiff and the pages to flip back if I did not hold them down but was amazed at how the pages would naturally lay without holding them down. That being said, the pages are quite thick; much thicker than everyday printer paper. You can feel the quality as you flip through the pages. The book has a lot of full pages of quality art work of images you will not see anywhere else. Some images start as colorless broken down sketches and develop into full color images of a character. Quite nice if you are into sketching. There are a lot of "Developer's Notes" throughout the book that offer details about the character, location, or item being presented on the page. Measured with a tape measure, the book is 9.3125 x 12.25 x 1.5625(Width x Height x Thick) and seems to weigh a little more than a 5lb dumbell that I used for comparison.I am very happy with the purchase of this book. I am glad I did not settle for any other brand. However, I am not happy with Amazon's packaging. The 5-star rating reflects how I feel about the book itself.

For the book itself:
I personally own a couple of illustrated game books and considered them high quality. My sons has more game books but are mostly Prima Games brand and used for game walk-throughs. I was very disappointed in the battered book I received and just hope he isn't disappointed to receive a book in this condition.
Too close to Christmas for Amazon to offer a replacement in the condition I expected. Lovely looking book but this was marred by either poor storage at the Amazon warehouse, or was shipped to Amazon by the publishers/printers in a sub-standard state.

There is so much information, and background to the creation and development of many of the characters, items, and areas. You see much more of the development and artwork that went into the franchise and BOTW specifically. I’d personally say the book is worth more than I paid for it. You also get an insight into the developers thoughts with the developers “notes” regularly scattered throughout. Absolutely stunning and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a book like such for a sequel or further Zelda game in future.

Unfortunately I cannot currently see an option to request a replacement or refund (and I don’t think the seller would really want an item of this condition returned). But if the seller sees this review and could contact me, I would be grateful.
