About the Author

The Legend of Zelda is a high-fantasy adventure based on the wildly successful and long-running video game series by game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. In February 2000, Shogakukan began publication of manga artist Akira Himekawa’s adaptation of nine of the most well known Nintendo games in the series. Each story follows the adventures of Link, the hero of the video game series, as he battles the forces of evil to save the Sacred Realm.

Volume 2 culminates the story of the manga adaptation of the highly successful videogaming hit, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. If you just like manga, or enjoyed the story of said game, you'll definitely enjoy this book (which, in my opinion, delivers a better plot than the game itself, being a little more complex).

The plot and drawings, by Akira Himekawa, will really absorb you into a tale that does feel like Zelda. For fans of the series, though, it's a must-have.

The Legend of Zelda is a video game series that most people know, and many have played at least one game of. Ocarina of Time is often considered one of the best, if not the best, games of its time and even now is played by many - especially with its recent release on the Nintendo 3DS.

Ocarina of Time is covered in two volumes, with this being the second.

Much like the first volume of this two-part representation of the game, this follows the story well, although more details are changed than in the first volume. As I state in my review of the first volume, this does not detract from the story and I feel it gives it a form of artistic flare.

One of my favorite representations in this volume was Nobooru; she is a great character and I am glad she got the amount of screen time she did. That aside, I enjoy seeing the plot of this game visualized more in the form of a book, rather than a game.

The changed details and addition of smaller scenes that are often not seen in games, such as much more that has to do with Sheik and Impa, is great. I enjoyed reading this background information - these things that I was left to wonder about while playing the game.

My one complaint is that, in this volume, I feel things went rather fast. Telling the story of a game in a single volume is hard and I agree with the choice to make Ocarina of Time a two-part series, but still I felt that some sections seemed rushed.

This, however, is countered by the fact that there are extra scenes at the end that include even more artistic flare and new ideas.

I definitely recommend this to even the slightest fan of this series.

I haven't read this book yet, but I just beat the game so I'll get on it soon. I didn't want spoilers. I've read a few others and even though they are categorized as children's graphic novels, I still enjoy them as an adult.

Important: This is the second half of the Ocarina of Time manga, thus making it the second half of my review. If you would like to read the first half, you can either find it by going to the Ocarina of Time manga Part 1 product page, (I'll include a link to that page in the comments below, since I can't figure out how to post it in my review) and searching for my review under the same title as this review, but with "Part 1" at the end of the title, instead of "Part 2", or by clicking on my name and looking for it in my reviews (which would be much easier). In order to get the full detail about these books, please look there first, then come back and read this half of the review. Thank you.

Please note: I received this book in the Akira Himekawa Zelda Manga Box Set I bought, rather than acquiring it separately, hence the fact it does not say "verified purchase" above my review. This review may be long, so if you don't have the time to read it all, just read the last paragraph, where you will find a far less detailed, condensed version of my review.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is possibly one of the most popular Zelda games, with many fans who love it passionately -- a great deal of whom feel it was the best Zelda game to date.

Ocarina of Time has always been one of my favorite video games, along with Majora's Mask, they have to be, hands down, the best games I've ever played. Part of what made me like them so much was their deep story and rich characters. But, being N64 games, the technology wasn't quite there for the developers to be able to tell a complete story with 100% full character development and structure. The cutscenes had to be reduced in order to leave room for actual gameplay; this was great since it left it to the player's imagination to fill in the blanks and connect the dots to make the story complete. What this manga does (along with Majora's Mask's manga) is expand on the game's story and focus on characters instead of fighting/battles. It's a great purchase if you're a fan of both games and I fully recommend it. The drawing are beautiful, taking inspiration from the anime-like style of the games' actual artwork.

I am a huge fan of the legend of zelda and this manga is just great. The price was really cheap while the shipping was extremely quick. It only took 2 days. Although i can't read the main story of the book because volume one has not arrived yet the art and the additional stories were enough to keep me entertained. Overall great manga
