The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords -Legendary Edition- Paperback – July 11, 2017
Purchase options and add-ons
The Legend of Zelda: Legendary Edition contains two volumes of the beloved The Legend of Zelda manga series, presented in a deluxe format featuring new covers and color art pieces by Akira Himekawa.
The battle for Hyrule and the Sacred Realm has begun! A young boy named Link must defeat evil on his long, perilous quest to find the spiritual stones that hold the key to the Triforce, and deliver them to Zelda, princess of the land of Hyrule.
Link finds himself broken into four different versions of himself—Green, Red, Blue and Violet Link—and pitted against a fifth, the malevolent Shadow Link, who has kidnapped Princess Zelda. The Links must find the Four Sword, the only thing that can combine them so that they are strong enough to stop Shadow Link and save the princess—and the world!

To stay true to the original Japanese version and keep the artwork the same, the book is read from right to left. It took a few pages to get used to the format, but then it read like a charm.
The artwork was fantastic, just like the artists' other works. As a side note, only the first few pages have color. The rest is black and white. Which, considering the story really focused on colors, these made things a bit difficult and is probably my only complaint. The story was smooth and entertaining. As I have never played this game, I can't compare to the source material story wise. But I enjoyed it anyway.
The Four Swords Manga book shipped in very good condition, and I would recommend keeping the box thingy it came in; it keeps the cover very clean and flat.
ALSO: This is a manga book, folks. We are lucky to have the first pages in color!
FIVE STARS FROM ME!
Decided to share a photo of all five editions next t each other so you'll have a better idea of what to expect if you grab each one. If you already own the other 4 buy this right now! If you don't own any of them this is as good a place to start as any. The Four Swords stories are interesting because the actual game didn't have much plot yet Akira Himekawa wrote two whole volumes (both collected in this book). Without giving away any significant events this arc has some really exciting moments between Shadow Link, Death Mountain, Temple of Light and Darkness, and Vaati. There are also a handful of silly bonus manga which will definitely bring a smile to your face :)
Here's hoping Viz eventually releases a Legendary edition of Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess comics or better yet, hardcover editions with full color pages. One can dream...

My son thinks it's funny so we've kept it. He has to read it back to front and it's very confusing.
Won't be purchasing any others.
