The year's most eagerly awaited classical pop crossover album, Dream With Me fulfills the promise of O Holy Night, Jackie's major label debut, an extended play (EP) seasonal collection released last November which became the year's #1 best-selling debut recording with sales exceeding 1 million. O Holy Night rocketed into the Billboard 200 at #2, its chart and sales success secured Jackie's position as the year's top-selling debut artist as well as the youngest female solo artist to debut during the SoundScan era. In addition to its pop chart success, O Holy Night reached #1 on the Billboard Classical Chart and #2 on the Billboard Holiday chart.

One of 2011's most heavily anticipated new releases, Dream With Me is produced by the legendary David Foster, a sixteen-time Grammy winner (including three Producer of the Year trophies) who's worked with Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Beyonce, Prince, Barbra Streisand and many others.

Jackie Evancho comes into her own with Dream With Me, collaborating with Foster on a repertoire ranging from classical arias to pop classics to Oscar-winning show tunes with highlights that include two extraordinary superstar duets showcasing the young vocalist performing with music legend Barbra Streisand ("Somewhere" from West Side Story) and international phenomenon Susan Boyle ("A Mother's Prayer") on her debut album.

"Dream With Me is a breathtaking and beautiful debut album," said Steve Barnett, Chairman, Columbia Records. "Jackie and David have created an extraordinary collection that will be enjoyed by music fans for many years to come."

"I can say without a doubt that working with Jackie on Dream With Me was truly phenomenal. Her natural ability and the depth of her understanding of the musical process left me speechless. I think we have created a musical experience that will thrill audiences of every age. She was a pure joy to work with and I had a front row seat to one of the next great talents of our time," said David Foster.

"We are incredibly proud of Jackie and thrilled at how fantastic her album turned out," said Lisa and Michael Evancho, the singer's parents. "Making her first studio album for Columbia has been a wonderful and exciting experience for Jackie, helping her grow as an artist and learn about music from some of the masters in the field."

Jackie Evancho - Dream With Me - produced by David Foster

When You Wish Upon A Star

Nella Fantasia

A Mother's Prayer featuring Susan Boyle

Nessun Dorma

O Mio Babbino Caro

Somewhere featuring Barbra Streisand

All I Ask Of You

Ombra Mai Fu

Imaginer featuring Conrad Tao

The Lord's Prayer

To Believe

Dream With Me

A contestant on "America's Got Talent" in 2010, Evancho catapulted into the quarter finals round when her unaffectedly pure performance of Puccini's "O Mio Babbino Caro" (one of Maria Callas's signature arias) handily won the show's YouTube round. Jackie performed five times on the show over the summer. Her astonishing classical crossover soprano performances marked the arrival of a major musical talent.

A Pittsburgh native, Evancho first began singing on the cusp of her 8th birthday after experiencing "The Phantom of the Opera" on DVD. She launched her own YouTube channel and started vocal lessons a few months later. She performed at local talent shows, going on to high profile events including singing the national anthem at Pittsburgh Pirate games.

Duets with Barbara Streisand and Susan Boyle!

I wonder if she's going to sing "Imaginer" in French?

I had to add that pairing Jackie with Barbara and Susan means that every time someone looks up those two singers, Jackie's name will appear. At least on YouTube and possibly other venues or articles as well.

Oh. And I can't forget Conrad Tao as well.

Andrew says:

Imaginer - the 'french' song. Very much needed to continue Ms Evancho's roll-out globally. I believe this is the song linked here, by Claudia Nobre

I could find almost nothing on Conrad Tao - a chinese pianist and composer. Also a nice international link, though. Looking forward to this piece immensely.

OMBC - her signature song, imho. Included despite Linda's statement that they would have "shelved" it by now, except that DF loves the song (as do I).

Duets with SB and BS...I knew Boyle would be on there, as a fellow SYCO label mate, and the way...the best selling artist globally the last 2 years running. Has already been stated that anyone who links to Streisand or Boyle on the net will now also find links to Jackie popping up. That will certainly be useful. And personally - Streisand is the one "WOW" factor on the song list. Of course, Babs and DF go way back.

Which is the song written by her uncle? I think it is "To Believe". Original music. At least there is 1 included. Need more of this, but all in due time.

However, in the meantime, the next best thing to an original is a song that no one has ever heard of before. That would be 'Dream with Me' by Stratovarius (...Stratovarius?)

I like it. And as Ehkzu says, Jackie will certainly produce the canonical version of this song, in the process bringing it out of the dustbin of obscurity. One question: Will there be stadium over-the-top guitar fireworks at the end?

Angel - a little over-recorded, to be sure. But there is a reason for that. One of the greatest songs from the pop lexicon, which has inevitably led to its incorporation into other genres as well...was just a matter of time. And this is the 1 song I had stated (as have others, to be fair) way back when on these blogs, that Jackie would certainly be doing at some time in her career. Not really a stretch to say, but...

All in all, a great song list, with much to anticipate and discuss and debate. Yummee!

L. Evancho says:
Imaginer - current song by another name with new lyrics written by Lara Fabian - nothing anyone's ever heard - yet. Dream with me (not Stratovarius) is the little song jackie, david and linda thompson came up with to start jackie on her way to writing her own songs. To Believe - yes, uncle matt. Angel - i totally agree and was against recording, but again overruled - not by sony though.

Andrew says:
Glad to hear the 'Dream with Me' and 'Imaginer' songs are other than I found on YouTube. Was not going to say anything...but found the YouTube examples grossly lacking any real appeal. Eeeexcellent.

And so, with 'Dream With Me' written by Jackie, DF and Linda, there are 3 original songs songs on the CD.

a la Lara Fabian - I LOVE this lady (though I seem to be in the minority on this on these blogs - puzzling). Feeling a little redeemed with this song choice. I would bet Lara is amazed by Jackie (and that is most definitely saying something!), and was happy to help on the new disc. Very, very cool.

@L Evancho
Re: subject matter of "Angel"
I don't intend to create controversy or offer any offense, but i'm reminded of a couple of songs on PTAD, "Concrete Angel" & "Teaching Angels How to Fly." It seems Jackie does not shy away from subjects other children wouldn't dare touch: death (& life after it), child abuse, murder, etc.
Quite apart from her remarkable singing ability & other admiriable qualities, Jackie seems to be a very courageous, very compassionate & emotionally deep person. I don't think i'm alone in saying you should be very proud of her, & not just for her singing. Thank you again.

I seem to recall that OHN was already in the the top 10 of Amazon's Bestseller list
more than a month before the November 16 release. Could something similar happen with DME (Dream with Me)? Appearances on the
Today Show, Oprah, QVC and the Tonight Show would certainly it did last year.
Here's an idea: a surprise visit by Barbra or Ms. Boyle on Oprah for a duet with Jackie.

Both David F. and Jackie said she had recorded 19 songs. My only question is, why leave 5 out and include OMBC, again. If they recorded that many, why include one that has been repeated so many times. All of the songs look terrific and soon as I can, I will pre-order. W0W! I cannot but think this album will go platinum.

Paul B. Tee says:

Lisa explained yesterday that OMBC was 'expected' by her fans, so they included it in the CD. (Not by Lisa, but by the producers)

I guess, because of AGT, it's her 'signature song', until something else better comes along. (at least for the producers)

Lisa -
No wish to create controversy. Wish only to better understand the dynamics of the JE-DF-Sony team.

'Collective effort' it is.

J. Korns says:
OMBC is sort of Jackie's "Over the Rainbow" a song that has become associated with her. Granted, few people understand the words to OMBC but it evokes a memory or triggers a response for folks, reminding them of the reaction when they first saw her.
Most recording artists have a song that has become their "signature" and many go through a period where they avoid that number, but eventually return to it because they understand that their fans want to hear it, to relive that memory that has been associated with that song.
