I can't wait till somebode writes a book about clubhouses in continetal Europe. Being a member of the Kennemer GCC in the Netherlands, I am sure that her clubhouse deserves a place in that book.
His detailed research and insightful presentation provides inspiration for all of us who appreciate the historic preservation of the great "Houses" as unique expressions of architecture and purpose.
As an avid collector of architectural books with a professional interest in golf clubhouse design, I find this exploration to be not only a valuable historic documentation but a remarkable celebration of the visual image.
This carefully edited book not only presents historic photographs, descriptions, and sketches of each clubhouse, but also includes breathtaking exterior and interior photographs.
Mr. Diedrich brings a personal touch and special artistic expression with his graceful watercolor vignettes of the surrounding golf course site plans. He expresses his view from a designer's perspective and with the keen architectural insight of experience.
I love this book! I will spend many hours pondering the remarkable images that grace these pages. They truly capture the aura of the total golf experience.
