They fit, acceptably, barely. I wear a 46 waist in anything else I have. These aren't a little bit loose, like any other swim shorts I've had. I grew up at the beach, and used to go often through my adult years, so I've had/worn/washed many. I buy 'em to size, then they all needed a little tightening of the drawstring to fit securely. These, I can leave the drawstring undone, they seem to want to stay on because they're tight, just a bit of work to get 'em on. Unfortunately, I don't see any bigger ones to buy, so I live with the size. It is what it is.
When I received these, on the day I hoped to visit the new YMCA pool, I examined them well before I tried to put 'em on. I found that one of the grommets where the drawstring exits the waistband was missing entirely. This is a very obvious error, yet it passed their "quality control" thing. I just wore 'em anyway, I wanted to swim and don't have/can't afford a second, better one yet.
They've been washed ten times now. Warm, gentle, light Tide. I studied them well this morning, planning to write this, and found that not only was the grommet missing, and the waistband where the drawstring comes out getting frayed, there's three places where the stitching's getting loose, so these are just coming slowly apart. This represents, to me anyway, really s__tty workpersonship, the product of minimal training and supervision, and little or no attention to quality control before shipping the product. I'd be ashamed if I did this sort of work at anything I've ever been responsible for. I don't expect miracles,. and I accept that mistakes happen, but these, in total, look like they were made on a Friday, by a new employee, and the supervisor was in the back room or something. Very sad work.
So, the point, folks, is that these are JUNK. I wasted my money. I'm retired, my retirement doesn't go very far, so I can't afford to buy more swm shorts yet, but I have to soon. You, dear reader, have the luxury of time, and if you've read this far, please take the following words to heart.
You'll find better swimwear than these easily on Amazon, and you'll be glad you did. DO NOT buy these.
If the maker's reading this, contact me, please. We need a word, y'all. I tried, but when I buy from Amazon they insulate the manufacturer from mere consumers.
Very cute swim trunks, but very poorly made/bad material.
Really liked the shorts and have order second pair ( first returned to amazon ), will give them strenuous workout while still in return timeframe
