J. A. Johnson is the co-author of the deep sea thriller, "Nereus I: Attack from the Depths", book one of the Nereus Project Series

He is the author of, "Legends of the Coast" a fantasy novel in the classic tradition. It is lushly illustrated with 29 full color illustrations by J. A. himself!

He is also the author of. "The Wild, Wild Quest: An Epic Fantasy of America's Old West".

He has written and illustrated children's picture books including, "Squeaky, Squealy, and Oink", and "Duck and Ball".

He is the author of the science fiction novella, "iionii" (ee-oh-nee), the co-author of "The Seething: A Zombie Chronicle", as well as the co-creator-writer-illustrator of the children's comic book, "The Mighty, Mighty Maomi" (which is available in both English and Mandarin Chinese).

He has also illustrated several coloring books.

He is the creator and performer of Cheesecake the Cat, as seen on, "Drawing with Cheesecake the Cat".

J.A. currently lives in South Carolina with his wife and son. He is currently busy on multiple other projects in prose and picture and puppetry.
