Whoa this is one massive incredible Lego build. Without a doubt this is the largest Lego I have ever built. But darn it, this thing is so cool.

I can't think of a single other Lego kit that is cooler than this one. The detail is amazing, the kit looks fantastic built. In fact, it is probably one of the more "lifelike" kits. Lifelike is a manner of speaking, it looks so much like the images in the Star Wars films.

The detail is fantastic. The two wings have a crank on the back to raise and lower them. The cockpit opens and closes. The stand is impressive.

This is not a particularly difficult build. A big table is critical, once the subassemblies start coming together this takes up a lot of space. Thank goodness Lego has done a great job organizing the bags of parts. It's pretty easy to find the correct part out of the five bazillion parts in this kit. There are four instruction books. Each one builds a major subassembly of the Shuttle.

I recently built the large Space Shuttle kit. That was much more complex than this one. I would say any solid Lego Maniac should be able to put this together. Although Lego labels this 16 years plus, if a twelve or thirteen year old has been building kits for a while, this should pose no problems at all. Sometimes it takes two people to manipulate the craft and attach parts. The stand is so darn cool.

Three of us completed this build over three days, maybe a total of 10 hours build time.

I am always amazed at Lego's quality control. In an over 2,000 piece kit, there were absolutely no missing parts and the leftovers were about 15 tiny pieces. Simply incredible.

I purchased two of these, one to open and play with, and one to save. The UCS sets are stunning in a whole and great for display. While they are not as durable as a hasbro solid plastic shuttle, "battle damage" is alot easier to repair with legos ;). I am a 27 year old man, and had little trouble assempling the set, it just required proper preperation! Sort Sort Sort!

As a side note, dont pay 300$ for this set on ebay or amazon, you can get it with free shipping through [...] for [...].

This set is stunning when built. This a something that you will want to display. It is not one that can be played with as the pieces will come off. It was relatively easy as lego finally put like pieces together in each bag, which removes the annoyance of hunting for pieces.

Only compliant is - As with all the Star Wars legos sets, it's hard to distinguish between the gray, dark gray and black pieces in the instructions manual.

I'm looking forward to seeing Legos' next Collector's Star Wars Set.

I have seven (7) Star Wars ultimate collector's sets and this one ranks second behind the Imperial Star Destroyer. This set is just larger than the actual toy that was made. It is a fun build, although the wings get a bit monotonous, but still awesome. It can be displayed with either the wings folded up or fully extended. The figures with the set are an added bonus but not necessary, this set just speaks for itself.

I actually like this model better than the Falcon - it's more fun to look at, easier to move about when fully built, a bit more sturdy, and just a nicer display piece. Of course, that opinion will get me in trouble with die-hard fans of the 'hunk of junk' from Correllian Engineering; so, I'll just say that this is an excellent model, on the whole, and worth the price.

Buildability: One of the more difficult sets to build because the bags are not numbered and most are white pieces. On the plus side, most of the bags consist of one or two like pieces so leave them in the original bags and take out pieces as needed. This set is very impressive, when displayed it is quite large. Also, the set may look flimsy, but it is the exact opposite; I was able to carry it around by the center wing. My least favorite (being very picky) is the fact that you have to take the landing gear off to display it on the stand.

Official LEGO description: The elegant Lambda-class Imperial shuttle transports the Empire's elite - and the occasional secret strike team of Rebel commandos - all across the galaxy. Now you can build this huge and iconic Star Wars vehicle in true minifigure scale for the first time ever!

Minifigs: Darth Vader, Shuttle Pilot, Imperial Officer, Stormtrooper and Luke Skywalker.

Value: This is probably one of my favorite sets (so far), however with the price being up there and all the pieces being mostly white, I would recommend collectors only. As a side note, the price is equal to the brick/cost ratio.

Overall rating: 5 stars, considering a collector is buying the set.

I bought this for my daughter and me to build last Christmas and we love it. We have built several other Lego kits together, but nothing quite this large.

First of all, it is stunning as a display piece. Its wings make this model seem very large and the detail makes it an instant conversation piece for any guests. The mini figs that come with it are also very cool and truly belong with the ship, unlike some other mini figs an their kits.

Secondly, the build itself was much more interesting than I thought it would be. By looking at the box, I thought it was going to be an all-white block nightmare. However, it is mixed up nicely with some gear box builds and some really cool unique blocks. It took my 7 year old daughter and me about two weeks to build of about 1hour a night.

On the downside, It is not a model to play with. It has lots of smaller pieces that fall off at the slightest provocation. It comes with a display stand, so I don't think even Lego meant for it to played with in living room battles! Treat it with kid gloves for sure or you might find yourself crying about it later.

Overall, it was well-worth the money. Great build experience with my daughter and stunning conversation piece for the display shelf. Highly recommend it to intermediate Lego builders, may be difficult for newer builders.
