Discover more in Black and WhiteLess ThanBrGreater ThanThe Leica M10 Monochrom opens the door to a new dimension of black-and-white photography. Equipped with a newly developed image sensor, the camera delivers an extremely high-quality rendition with breathtaking detail resolution. The absence of a color filter array and exceedingly high sensor resolution of 40 megapixels result in an unprecedented depiction of even the finest details, along with an exceptionally natural-looking sharpness. The new M10 Monochrom and its high-resolution sensor represent an uncompromising commitment to classic black-and-white photography, which has now been elevated to an entirely new level of image quality. No other camera consolidates the most fundamental of all photographic practices - the composition of images using only contrast and light - with a recording quality that can only be achieved with state-of-the-art methods of engineering and construction.Improved detail rendition for greater image qualityThe Leica M10 Monochrom occupies a special place within the M-System: its newly developed image sensor is designed exclusively for grayscale recordings and offers exceptional fine-detail rendition thanks to its exceedingly high, 40-megapixel resolution. The fact that no color filter arrays are required means that there are fewer glass and filter layers to impede the transmission of light or causeThis is especially advantageous in a traditional ra

Hi intent. Quality materials. Uncompromising design, engineering and build. An utterly elegant and lovely camera. Its functioning and rendering is a discontinuous leap beyond other cameras. I like it more than I can communicate.

    I am pleased with Adorama.

I like the camera a great deal but I think that the Leica Corp is less than generous. A camera costing circa 8 k should come with a printed instruction manual. This one doesn't . You can download the 136 page manual from their web site and then print it if you want a real manual. You can go on line and ask them to mail you one. I've been waiting three weeks and it hasn't arrived. I think it must come from Germany. I'm in the USA.
A camera this expensive should come with a spare battery. A spare will cost you an extra 200 bucks. The battery the camera comes with will not suffice for a whole day of serious shooting.

In some ways the camera is inferior to the earlier 246 monochrom. For the latter, it's easier to change the ISO. Also you can change from single shot to "continuous" more easily. And you can delete images more quickly.. Of course the 246 has fewer megapixels . With the 246 you can turn the electronic viewfinder on and off with the press of a button. With this newer camera you must remove the electronic viewfinder. Not only does this take time, but the viewfinder is easily lost-- and it costs real money. I hope that Leica
will re-engineer this camera in a later model.
