How nice it is to actually buy a product that does precisely what it says it will do...no, in this case it is even better that advertised! This is quite a rarity these days!

Our dishes, especially our glasses were looking absolutely horrid! We have extremely hard water in our area and of course I am too cheap to buy a decent filtering system. Our dishes kept getting worse and worse. We bought yet another new dishwasher but that did not cure the problem. I am the primary dishwasher in our home and to be honest, I was getting quite ashamed. The kids and grandkids would come over daily and give me strange looks! We were actually contemplating tossing our old glasses out and completely starting over.

Both my wife and I were at the hair cutting place (We have used the same lady for years) and were talking about our plight and the haircut lady recommended this stuff. Good grief, the things you learn at beauty shops! Anyway, the next day my wife bought a can of this product and I gave it a try.

After only two washings we noted a huge difference! After a few more washings our glasses and dishes looked absolutely new! Some of these glasses are well over 20 years old. I was absolutely amazed. We simply fill the main wash receptacle with this Lemi-Shine and the rest with our normal dishwashing detergent. It absolutely works like a charm. Do be sure you follow the well written instructions on the can.

Now I fear I must point out to you that the price listed here is quite odd. I buy a can of this stuff at Wal-Mart for a little over three dollars; actually, I buy several cans at a time as our local store keeps running out of the stuff. Still and all, if I could not get it here locally, I probably would go ahead and fork out the bucks they are asking here simply because the stuff is that good!

This product is phosphate free.

We have hard water and it really takes a toll on our dishes. Everything kept coming out with a white film of calcium build up that took multiple hand washings to scrub off. I was just about to give up all together and get a reverse osmosis water softener installed when I came across lemi-shine in the grocery store. I decided to give it a try since spending hundreds on a water softener wasn't in our budget. I couldn't believe how well it worked! After each load, there was noticeably less calcium buildup on the heating element and walls of our dishwasher and the dishes started coming out shiny! Since the dishes were the only thing affected by the hard water, I no longer needed a water softener :) I've tried other, cheaper brands that claim to work the same way, but nothing else works like lemi-shine. The only downside is that it can be really hard to find. Not many stores carry it and the ones that do, don't restock often, so you'll probly have to put in a request for it with your local grocery manager

I tried everything before stumbling across Lemi-shine. Vinegar, washing the inside of the dishwasher by hand with cleaners. Nothing works as well as lemi shine. Before using it we had hard water spots on everything and it kept getting worse to the point that glasses were looking really scuzzy and plates felt almost gritty in spots. I filled the soap resevoir with Lemi shine and ran the dishwasher empty. I then filled the dishwasher with dishes and used the regular detergent and a bit more lemi shine. The dishes came out sparkling.

One word of caution though...

If you have glasses with logos on them (think beer pint glasses), this product will most likely take off the logo as well as the hard water spots. I ended up with a few beer glasses and coffee cups having the graphics/logos cleaned right off. For this reason, I've found it best to simply use lemi shine with the dishwasher empty every few weeks. At the very least, I'll run it with only stainless silverware, pyrex, tupperware, utensils, and plain clear glasses, etc.

I live in an apartment in a city with notoriously bad hard water problems. In less than a year our dishwasher went from not adequate to awful. Not only were our dishes not getting clean and the glassware went from clear to a milky white, but the internal mechanisms of the dishwasher were affected. The dishwasher was so clogged the water no longer would reach the top shelf and the dishes were barely wet, and the dishes were as dirty as when we put them in.

We used 3 treatments. The first two we ran a normal cycle and we could tell the dishwasher was much cleaner. The last treatment we let sit in the dishwasher for 8 hours (as directed for extremely hard water stains and clogs).

After the treatments we washed a full load of dishes and it was incredible. The glassware came out completely clean and without any water stains. All the other dishes were very clean and better than when we first moved in. FIVE STARS! Amazing. Must buy.

My husband and I just purchased a home last month and for the first time in 12 years, we have a dishwasher. I was beyond excited to finally be able to wash my dishes in a machine rather than by hand. Imagine my enormous disappointment when every dish, spoon, knife, fork, glass, etc. all came out with this horrible, nasty white film on it. I thought surely the dishwasher must be broken. I was afraid we would have to purchase a brand new dishwasher, which would be difficult financially. I decided to do some research online though to see if there was anything I could do to get my dishes clean in this machine. Fortunately I came across a recommendation for Lemi Shine and boy am I glad! Our dishes come out shiny and clean now by just adding a bit of this to each load. I do not purchase it from Amazon though. I find it is much cheaper in Wal-Mart and Publix. I can't possibly recommend this product enough!
