I got another and the middle pedal stopped working about a week after the replacement deadline.
The right pedal continues to work great.
The left sometimes gets stuck and sends a constant signal after is depressed one.
If you are buying it, you are taking your chances...
My only real complaint is you can't use multiple pedals at the same time! This is a major problem for me as I was trying to use it for gaming like vehicle pedals. You can't press the clutch with the brake or engage both treads on a construction vehicle with this pedal. I recommend buying multiple single pedals and mounting them on a board or something yourself if you have similar needs. It would work just fine for page turning and other simple uses.
- Works great
- Hands free teamspeak or vent
- Software also available on their website
- Install took 2 or 3 tries to recognize the device
- Since it does not recognize the pedal input you have to map it to key bindings which are hard to find a universally open one for all games
I ordered this pedal on a recommendation from one of the people in my gaming group as they exclaimed that it left their hands free to game. So I figured if organists can play with their feet than so can I. It has been about two weeks with this thing and I am loving it. I was pensive whether this product would work with a rolling chair, but it performs just fine. The reason I went for the three pedal model instead of the one pedal model is that we have multiple voice channels in which to communicate so having different pedals for each line of communication makes it more effective.
All in all, my compatriot was correct. My hands are now free to blast my enemies to tiny bits (in thy mercy).
I opened up the pedal and discovered that the soldering job on the left switch was pretty poor compared to the others.
I wish I would have investigated this sooner so I could get a replacement.
You need windows to setup the bindings, but after that you are free to use it on whatever OS you want. The construction is sub par, as the ribbon cables follow along the bottom of the switch, just covered with some electrical tape. The switch itself will skate around the floor if you don't have something to tie it down. It is very light.
Cut to about a month later, one of the pedals (leftmost) has just completely stopped working. The other two pedals work fine, but I've had to adjust my configuration for record/stop on one pedal and loop on the other.
I anticipated this kind of shotty construction when I purchased the switch pedal, and I'm sad to see I was right. It's a hard to find a good budget USB switch pedal, and while this does the job I'm disappointed it malfunctioned so soon after I purchased it. Mine may be an isolated incident, but I severely doubt it. Buy at your own risk.
I was happy to see that these foot pedals, and the software works just fine in conjunction with the Logi software.
I have had them now for about 2 weeks, and the middle foot pedal suddenly quit working. Pressing the pedal would rarely work, and when it did work the key would stay pressed permanently. I disassembled the unit (very easy just remove the corresponding screw on the underside, and push out the pivot pin). The mechanism inside is very simple.
It is nothing more than a light beam that is broken every time the pedals are pressed. Apparently the emitter and receiver on my pedals were not aligned very well with each other, I twisted one slightly so that it now lines up correctly. This step solved the issue of the key getting "stuck". However even after that, sometimes when pressed the switch still would not function.
It almost seems the plastic material of the pedal that breaks the beam is reflective enough to somehow make its way to the receiver. I placed a dull piece of tape over the plastic that breaks the beam, and now it registers perfectly every time.
Overall these are very cheaply constructed and very light (at least in comparison to my scythe pedals), and obviously can have some issues, but I think with some small tweaks they should last for a long time I hope. And they do, at least at this time work in conjunction with logitechs latest gaming software.
