- Works great
- Hands free teamspeak or vent
- Software also available on their website
- Install took 2 or 3 tries to recognize the device
- Since it does not recognize the pedal input you have to map it to key bindings which are hard to find a universally open one for all games
I ordered this pedal on a recommendation from one of the people in my gaming group as they exclaimed that it left their hands free to game. So I figured if organists can play with their feet than so can I. It has been about two weeks with this thing and I am loving it. I was pensive whether this product would work with a rolling chair, but it performs just fine. The reason I went for the three pedal model instead of the one pedal model is that we have multiple voice channels in which to communicate so having different pedals for each line of communication makes it more effective.
All in all, my compatriot was correct. My hands are now free to blast my enemies to tiny bits (in thy mercy).
Shipping was much faster then expected and I got it earlier then they estimate.
The quality is good, not great but good, as mentioned by someone else the switches are cheep and may need to be replaced at some point but so far I have had the foot switch for a few months and game about 30 to 40 hours per week and all the switches still work great. the movement to actuate is more then I would like but nothing that cant be accommodated for. I do like there is enough resistance in the switch to allow me rest my foot on it with moving it reducing the time it take to press each switch.
One complaint I have is the rubber feet on the bottom keep falling off and I have had to glue them back on to keep if from sliding around on the wood floor.
all in all you can't beat this if you need a foot switch for gaming at sub $50.
I bought it to use with Rocksmith for PC to change between tones and for that purpose it works great. It was shipping from China so I was prepared for a long wait, but it only took a week despite the estimated 4-8 weeks that Amazon gave me. The packaging was terrible and the only reason I docked it a star. The pedal board was wrapped in one layer of bubble wrap, then stuck into a thin cardboard sleeve (not even a box, just a sleeve) and the whole thing put in a plastic shipping bag. It wasn't damaged, but I can see how it could easily be damaged with that packaging.
Included in the package is the pedal board with a roughly 6' cable and a disc containing the software to set the pedals up. The software is basic but easy to use. When you first start it up, it asks if you're using a single or triple pedal. Then you get a screen with a picture of the pedal board with a text box under each pedal. To set each pedal, you just click in the text box, hit the key you want it to be set to, then click "Set" and you're done. You can also set button combos such as Ctrl+C or Ctrl+V. You can assign any key on the keyboard and even mouse clicks.
The pedals themselves feel pretty sturdy but time will tell how they last. They're all plastic so I wouldn't try pounding on them or anything. The springs are nice and stiff and have .5"-1" of travel. There's no click or anything like a real guitar pedal, the switch just triggers about ¾ of the way through the travel. Definitely worth the price if you don't want to spend $100+ for the other triple pedals out there.
My only real complaint is you can't use multiple pedals at the same time! This is a major problem for me as I was trying to use it for gaming like vehicle pedals. You can't press the clutch with the brake or engage both treads on a construction vehicle with this pedal. I recommend buying multiple single pedals and mounting them on a board or something yourself if you have similar needs. It would work just fine for page turning and other simple uses.
