I have bought these oils in the past and was pleased with the quality but this time when I ordered them I was sent oils that were not 100% essential oil. You can see that the ingredients list corn oil and a carrier oil called triethyl citrate. I could immediately tell the difference when I applied the product; it was noticeably greasier and the odor of the peppermint and the lemongrass was markedly decreased from oils I have received in the past. The label of the oils I received does not indicate that they are 100% essential oils, but the product description specifically states that it is supposed to be pure oil. I tried to return the oils for a refund but they are not eligible for a refund.

Wikipedia says this about triethyl citrate: "Triethyl citrate is an ester of citric acid. It is a colorless, odorless liquid used as a food additive, emulsifier and solvent (E number E1505)[4] to stabilize foams, especially as whipping aid for egg white.[5] It is also used in pharmaceutical coatings and plastics.[6]

Triethyl citrate is also used as a plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and similar plastics.[7]

Triethyl citrate has been used as a pseudo-emulsifier in e-cigarette juices.[8] It functions essentially like lecithin used in food products, but with the possibility of vaporization which lecithin does not have."
