However, the photos of this computer are not accurate. The photo of the left side of the computer clearly shows an HDMI connector. When I received the computer, I realized that this model (43344QU) does NOT have an HDMI connector, although other models of the Lenovo G570 apparently do.
This could be a deal breaker for some people, so please be aware. I wanted an HDMI connecter, but it's not critical for me, so I elected to keep the computer rather than return it.

10/25 - I received the unit back. Despite their website and 2 tech support reps later the unit was not even repaired. Their website that gives you up to date status said it was being repaired. However, when I received the unit back, the worksheet said they didn't fix the problem. I called the first time when the original status said they couldn't find a problem. I explained the problem in detail to get them to fix it. When I had called them a second time, even their tech support rep said he'd make sure they would replace the hardware of the unit so I can have a peace of mind they did everything. This didn't happen. I made the effort to call twice because their website asked me to call. The fact they didn't fix the unit and having assurance and status updates otherwise makes me feel lied to.
In addition, if you read the original review below I purchased an extended warranty. It took 4 phone calls and 10 days to receive my email about the warranty I purchased. The biggest reason I kept asking for it was the fact that their representatives kept asking if I wanted to purchase a warranty when I was already billed for one and didn't receive it! Two representatives told me I would get it within 24 hours. This didn't happen. Last night I was told I'd get it during this call because I told them I'd dispute it on my credit card.
I think at this point, Lenovo needs to step up their service.Read more ›
This thing is a solid build with decent speed. Super light and sturdy. Parts of it are made of lightweight metal.
I got this because of my Amazon Points which really made a great discount..
Anyway, I'd recommend it over acer, toshiba, etc.
The only pain is there is a bit of extra software probably most will not use. You can simply uninstall it, but its just a slight pain for some.
Also, this does NOT come with any recovery disks. You MUST make your own to restore in the event of a complete hard drive failure. it was the first thing I did and strongly suggest you take the time with this or any laptop as they can be tricky.
Good luck and thank you Amazon!
The 43344QU version of the Lenova G570 apparently does not include Blue Tooth, an HDMI port nor an E-Sata port.
Disappointing after actually reading hands on reviews of a Lenova G570 which did include an HDMI port.
I have a 43344QU coming, and apparently it lacks both Blue Tooth and an HDMI port.
At this point it appears those would have just been nice to have items. I have no known REQUIREMENT for either.
This laptop does have 4GB of memory and a 500 GB Hard Drive and 1033 MHz memory and an Intel 35nm CPU / Graphics integrated chip set. Sturdy plastic case, strong hinges, Touch pad that actually works reliably for basic mouse functions, usable keyboard, metal non-sweat grill to rest you hands on when typing, a 15.5 inch display, and it only cost 379 dollars with free shipping and no tax.
Should be able to "make do".
Never really noticed a decrease in speed. Maybe it has slowed down a wee bit, but it's still WAY faster than my desktop, and if it is slower, it's not enough for me to really notice. It's also lasted the LONGEST out of any of my previous laptops (which is just a Toshiba - lasted a year and something), and is still going strong.
The only problem I've ever had with it is with the physical body - specifically - one of the screws that holds the monitor to the main body came out. When the repair guys looked, the clasp thing (don't want to get too technical) that held it together had completely disintegrated. They didn't have a replacement part, so they had to improvise. Besides making a weird sound whenever I lift up the screen, the hardware itself is still solid.
That's it. Besides a not pretty/not ugly appearance and some slight hardware issues, my baby's still working great and hardly gives me any problems. And I love you Amazon for having this product available - trying to buy it from the Lenovo website was a nightmare that I will never repeat.
Note: the repair guys were not from Lenovo, they were just general computer repair people.
