Great product - This unit supplies the wattage needed for my Lenovo W510 that lower wattage (e.g., 90W) units couldn't. If the charging unit doesn't supply the wattage needed, there is a message at boot warning of slower charging and SLOWER PERFORMANCE. Ouch! This unit delivers the needed 135 Watts. Don't settle for 3rd party chargers if they don't explicitly match your unit, and, in my case (for W510), deliver 135W. Do a web search on "Lenovo charger compatibility chart" before buying a charger.

Don't make the same mistake I did and order this not realizing it is not the slim tip variety. It is an actual Lenovo charger and they do have an adapter 1 X Brand New Power Converter Charger Adapter Cable for IBM ThinkPad X1 Carbon 0B47046 UltraBook Notebook PC so you can turn it into a slim tip. That being said it works great and buying this as it is, with the adapters was cheaper than buying a normal slim tip AC adapter. Go ahead and purchase it with that knowledge. This accident on my part actually saved me about 30$ with two additional chargers for work and home for use with my laptop.

OEM charger

I purchased an "Open Box" computer but without the charger and immediately went to Amazon to find one. I did, and at a price that was only a quarter of what was taken off the price of the computer to cover the cost of the charger. The charger purchased is an OEM charger and obviously works exactly as advertised.

The adapter seemed to work for two weeks but gave off a high pitched beep at a periodic interval. I didn't pay much attention to it (it wasn't excessively loud) until it failed and the sound appeared louder. Of course after shipping time this is two days outside of my 30 day return policy with amazon so I'm out the money.
**** UPDATE **** Do not buy this Adapter from Amazon. I called Lenovo to see if they would support their 90 day warranty and they informed me that this product was built in 2011 and is quite old. It was sold to me from Amazon as a NEW product, so either it was sitting on their shelves for three years or the sale was deceptive. Regardless, I'm pretty upset that Amazon would put me in this position and that I have no recourse.

Used this factory sealed product to replace an identical power supply that lasted almost 2 years. I seem to get about 2 years out of power supplies from Lenovo. I have always used Lenovo/IBM laptops so I don't have anything to compare to.

I gave this product 5 stars because it does its job perfectly.

However, I would prefer to be able to buy generic items and/or never have to buy a replacement in the first place.

FROM MY EXPERIENCE NEVER BUY GENERIC POWER SUPPLIES OR BATTERIES FOR LENOVO LAPTOPS.

Only 6 months and it's already broken. The 3 prong cord is already torn up. I use this charger a lot because of school. So when it stop working it was detrimental. I am just disappointed. Don't get it from Laptop Parts Plus.
