The hardware is nice and solid, I don't think it feels cheap at all like another reviewer said. With Windows 8 loaded from scratch I haven't had a single problem, it runs great. In my humble opinion this is a great machine for the price. Sure it would be nice if it had SSD and a touchscreen but you're not going to find that for this price. For what it is and what it cost I'm very pleased!
It comes with a ton of games pre-installed that I had to remove, mostly stuff for little kids. When I booted it up it appeared to be geared towards a 10-year old, not an adult office worker.
I bought my Lenovo C345 brand new (supposedly it was not a "refurbished") yet it "acts" like it's 20 years old. Many services that should be enabled were disabled by default. The wireless stops every other day and I have to run the "troubleshooter" to get it running in order to get on the internet. I do not have it connected with an Ethernet cable because my wireless router is just across the room. The wireless adapter inside this Lenovo is apparently junk. It seems as if Lenovo took an old XP computer and slapped a new Windows 8 OS inside it and they can call it new? I like Windows 8 but not on this Lenovo C345 desktop! This thing suddenly goes black, it crashes, freezes and hangs up for hours so I have to turn it off. Then when I turn it back on, without any prompt from me, all by itself, suddenly it has had to do a "factory reset" ?!!! I remember when desktop computers used to work flawlessly for many years before having to do a system restore. Why won't this C345 let me do a "system restore" like in the old days? The "factory reset" has happened about 5 times in the 2 months that I've had it. It works ok for a few days, then BAM. It goes wonky! I've tried to do the "refresh" as it's called now, so that files won't be lost. However, there are always "corrupt" files and it "can't find" the installer? What is up with that?
It does come with lots of apps running in the background as if it is supposed to be a "touchscreen" but it's not a touchscreen. I have now uninstalled all the "free trial" programs and preloaded games. Maybe it will be ok for awhile?
Shame on you Lenovo for selling such garbage!Read more ›
